A thinker's kind of film about the possibility of visits from other worlds. Like a more low key, low budget version of Arrival except no green or grey men and no space ship or not from the inside anyway. No special effects. Anderson is quite far from Scully here and as usual very good. A realistic and thoughtful approach to UFOs. #ufo #ryaneslinger #gilliananderson #davidstraithairn #alexsharp
Très amusante! Very entertaining french movie that takes place in the cultural world. Like most french movies they talk a lot and in this one more than a lot. Très charming observation about how the digitalization of our world affects us and what kind of future we want and/or can expect. #mellanraderna #nonfiction #olivierassayas #guillaumecanet #juliettebinoche
#tb #us #jordanpeele #lupitanyongo #winstonduke #annadiop #elisabethmoss #shahadiwrightjoseph #yahdaabdulmateeII #igotfiveonit The promising Get out-director and screenplaywriter Jordan Peele is back with his second feature film, US. Its a scary piece of film with a lot of slasher and horror influences. The thriller film is rich on differenent references to Michael Jacksons Thriller, Big, Spielbergs Jaws and in some way both Hitchcock and Kubrick. The first hour is really really good and take my breath away. Exciting, smart, mysterious and truly entertaining. Then it fades away and lose my focus and attention. But its film about racism, class distinctions and the high frustration burning in USA today. Who is the shadow figures in the film? Is it a metaphor of destructive forces? The Slaves underneath the middle class individuality, blindness and peoples being ungrateful? Maybe we forget that for every complain in you, there is always another unknown person who would love to have your life....
Ida by polish director Pawel Pawlikowski was a b/w masterpiece, a stunningly beautiful and moving picture. Pawlikowskis latest one, Coldwar, is also b/w and equally beautiful to watch. A melodrama about passion during the years after the WW2 and the beginning of the cold war. It's not always you want movies to be longer but with just 89 minutes you wish it would be longer and maybe it should have been a bit longer to really hit the spot. But that's just a minor remark. Music plays a big and lovely part, and the actors are really good, especially Joanna Kulig who is pure and simply fantastic. Who knew I would be so captivated and in love with two b/w polish movies?!?! Just goes to show that a great movie is a great movie and that's that! / Skoglund. #coldwar #ida #pawelpawlikowski #joannakulig
This remake of a 30 year old cult classic is more of a new take on the classic Stephen King novel about a pet cemetary that brings back the dead. Some major things are different here but that is no argument for a worse adaption (just look at the movie The Shining vs the novel). I love the original movie från 1989, and this one was not as awesome that I had hoped but still very good and sometimes very scary and dark and grim in a way the original never was. #petsematary #stephenking #petsematary2019
Unicorn store is Brie Larsons first movie as a director and it premiered 2017 at Toronto film festival. But it's not until now, when Netflix picked it up, that it will be shown for the bigger audience. And it's a corny comedy that has its ups and downs. You have to like unicorns, for one. But i liked it, it was strange in a good, quirky way and Brie Larson shows that besides the amazing, funny actress that she is, she also has a talent for working behind the camera. #unicornstore #brielarson #samuelljackson #joancusack #bradleywhitford #mamoudouathie #netflix
#störstavallt #quicksand #netflixoriginalseries #netflix #malinperssongiolito #hannaardéhn #hannaardehn The first swedish netflix original series is well worth seeing. Good acting, especially from Hanna Ardéhn, but also from David Dencik and Reuben Sallmander. The story is starts with a school- shooting and from there it looks back to the events leading up to that horrifying moment.
