Like you’re the captain of your own ship, steering it intentionally, each time toward a known destination.
It’s been choppy seas for me over the years, so much time spent learning to ride the waves; and before that feeling spent by time, constantly trYing to resist the undertow, digging my toes in the wet sand as it repeatedly got washed away from underneath my feet, nearly pulling me in with it more times than I could ever recall. These days I find myself more and more aware of the #presence I’ve cultivated through therapy and being a therapist and a mother. Throughout this time ive been committed to finding and knowing mysel(ves), becoming sel(ves)-aware rather than self conscious & every day feeling a bit closer to living synchronously with my own inner truths, honoring the darkness and the light and giving myself permission to be open to other peoples realities and perspectives, which has consistently proven that I can’t and will never know or understand all the ways or all the things. And in opening to this I’ve learned to trust myself & to depend and rely mostly on myself, that I cAn be there for ME as well as for those whom I love who depend and rely upon me.
