Style through simplicity. Definitely, something we strive for with Zeitobjekt. After all dive watches are meant to be as readable as possible in difficult situations. Readability is paramount.
So many things to learn so little time. I did definitely expect the sample production process to be a lot faster, but being a new kid on the block does bring its own challenges. We want to make our own watch and not just 1to1 copy another watch, so a lot of design decisions are trial and error. A lot of plastic was used for various 3D prints to get it just right.
The timeframe of presales in autumn is still on the table and did not change. It's just like in the last message. It makes little sense to advertise the same image of the watch over and over again. And I think you also don't want to be spammed by it, so instead I use Instagram for those small updates to let you know, that yes we are working on getting the watches done. Believe me, once I got more to photograph I will ramp up the posts again :)
German Manufacturing is slowly starting up again with their productions. I was on a small tour yesterday to three of our manufacturers to get up to speed again.
We should soon be ready for some bigger announcements, so if you're not yet an Insider you should definitely sign up today.
Just a couple more weeks until all of German manufacturing is back from holidays.
Sorry for the lack of news this month, but there is literally nothing I can do about it since all our partners are enjoying the summer. And good for them, this way we get them totally refreshed and ready to deliver great work.
I did visit our case manufacturer to talk more details, but since all the workers are out it was just talk and we need to wait for the business to start back up again to get confirmation on all that we planned.
Hope you're having a great summer.
How are you surviving summer 2018?
I got myself a season pass for the local swimming pool and try to cool off that way.
The only thing missing is a Zeitobjekt on my wrist. Swimming would be no problem with the 300m WR.
Just the first full view of the GMT with Hybrid Bezel since the renaming.
With all of Germany's manufacturing being on a month long vacation this will be a slower month for news since we can't produce the watches right now. That's sadly not something we can change. They work hard the rest of the year, so it's well deserved.
But we'll do our best to get at least some of the work done and a few bites of news out to you.
Any of you already own a German Watch?
You probably have already seen that we got some new text on the watch dial.
The Triton Collection is now the Seafarer, but more exciting is the Made In Germany at 6 o'clock.
With Made In Germany come some very exciting possibilities. More about that in a soon to come Insider Newletter. Become one to know it first. Link In Bio.
Yes, we have a new name. What do you think?
MARTIS is no more and instead, we are now ZEITOBJEKT.
The change was in consideration for quite some time already and now was the best time to do it. Keep a lookout for some exciting news regarding our manufacturing and why the name change happened.
The websites will take a few days to get updated. There is a lot of happening in the background to make sure all old connections are taken over to ZEITOBJEKT. But you don't have to do anything, all social media is already taken care of, so you now just follow Zeitobjekt instead of Martiswatches. The website is now zeitobjekt.com
So now full of excitement, it is time to let MARTIS go and welcome ZEITOBJEKT. A good German name for a hopefully great German watch. We sure are doing our best to make it the best it can be.
