it’s called Sukhasana, easy pose, but to some, like me, it’s wasn’t so easy. Growing up I did not sit cross legged AT ALL. So, at age 26 when I started doing yoga, it was pretty unbearable. From the moment I would enter the pose the count down to torture began. One of my intentions when I began yoga was to practice sitting with crossed legs; so I could meditate, do pranayama or simply listen to the teacher speak without thinking my hips were going to explode. Thankful with time and practice this pose has gotten better.
