It may be breakfast but I'm already starting my epic game plan to get a good nights sleep tonight 🙋 Sleep is something I have always struggled with...when I was little I used to try and talk to my twin about anything and everything so that she could stay up with me because I'd get so bored trying to go to sleep🙄 Whenever I have something on my mind (which could be as simple as what I need to do the following day, what this one person said to me that day or something as long term as my detailed 20 year plan) WHATEVER it is, my mind just can't settle. So it's super important to me to have a good night time routine, including switching off my phone, using lavender essential oil and more recently, taking @vida_glow's sleep beauty powder 2x per day. These are two ways I like to use it - in my morning beetroot latte or in my smoothie👌 I have seen an improvement specifically in the amount of time it takes me to get to sleep and my eyes aren't puffy in the morning which is amazing 🙌 Do you guys have any tips on getting a better nights sleep?!
Decided to branch out from my usual routine dinners and make a vegan pesto! #seeieatdifferentthings#iswear 😂 I woke up craving it (weird I know) but the ones in delis/supermarkets either have cheese in them or they're vegan but ridiculously overpriced 🙈 so I made my own! And I'm stoked because it was so easy to make and 12/10 delish so if anyone would like the recipe definitely let me know and I'll write it up in the comments! Ohh and I had it with my fav buckwheat pasta which is the BEST for digestion!!!
We do our weekly shop on the weekends, so by Thursday I'm scraping together the last few spinach leaves and maybe a tomato if I'm lucky 😅😖 But today I had some next level cravings that needed to be satisfied so I did a mini shop. I got more oats for breakfasts (quick oats are my fav right now!), some veggies for dinner, apples & blueberries for snacks, ingredients for vegan pesto that I made today🌿🙌 & buckwheat pasta to have with it and also some smoked trout and crispbreads which I had for lunch today! Also that is the first time I've ever bought nutritional yeast and I LOVE it!!!!! Where has this been all my life?!?!
Post workout breakfast this morning took me 2 mins to make aaaaaand less than 2 mins to inhale 😂🙈 I soaked 1/2 cup oats overnight in almond milk (just enough to cover) and added a sliced banana, pumpkin seeds (my fav for skin health!) and @coyo_is_coconuts yogurt! Alsoooo I went to my first spin class today in SO long and have been feeling amazing the whole day. Celebrating the little victories ✌️✌️✌️
The last 4 weeks have been my most inconsistent weeks with the gym....but that doesn't mean my fitness has declined! I have been doing different workouts like runs along the beach, yoga in my bedroom, at home circuits using chairs, a mat and different objects as weights! And everyday I have tried to go for a walk, it's my favourite sort of exercise for sure! And walking dogs is soooo much fun honestly 🙌 My fitness hasn't dropped off and the most important thing is I have been ENJOYING my workouts! I dont force myself to do a workout I don't want to do (been there, done that) because my number one priority right now is enjoying every single day 🙏so let this be a reminder that if the gym isn't for you right now, that's perfectly fine there are many other ways to stay fit!
My daily goal at the moment is to have 3 different coloured veggies in both lunch and dinner✅ I try my best to live by this because it means I'm getting a variety of nutrients ❤️💛💚💜💙 To make it easier to stick to I prepare my veggies my favourite way (if I enjoy the food I eat, it's sooo much easier to maintain) which is ROASTING! Some people love sautéing or steaming but for me it is 100% roasting. So keeping this in mind for lunch I made this bowl - filled with spinach and roasted broccoli💚, roast pumpkin 🎃, purple cabbage sauerkraut💜, avo💚 & smoked salmon💗
Are you a savoury or sweet breakfast person? I am deffffinitely a sweet gal! You can find me having sweet breakfasts most days, normally including oats 😂 This means that 95% of the time my lunches and dinners are savoury, mainly because I don't like to have fruit at each meal. For today's breakfast I mixed quick oats with protein powder, topped with banana, berries, almonds and pumpkin seeds and poured almond milk on top! It was actually so good guys 🙌🙏🙌
Eating differently to my family // When I was younger, everyone in my family ate the exact same dinner....But oh my how things change.. when I look around the table now nearly everyone has a different meal 😅 I love it though because it means that everyone is eating exactly what they want! Buuuuut the only thing is that it makes it tricky to prepare my meals, I can't just rock up to the kitchen expecting it to be empty right when I want to eat. And that doesn't sit well with my hangry self😤SO I usually prepare something earlier - like this morning the first thing I did was prepare one of my "tray meals" and I had it cooking in the oven while I got ready for work. That way I know when I got in tonight I'd have dinner ready and it makes everything SO much easier!! #imthankingmypastselfnow#yummy
I often get asked how to not get bored with healthy eating, and my number one tip would be to replace an unhealthy item with a healthy alternative! Everything I used to eat has now been replaced with a healthy alternative🌮🍟🍝🍫🍪So for these pancakes Instead of using self raising flour I subbed in buckwheat flour, I used almond milk instead of regular milk (because it doesn't agree with me), banana instead of sugar and coconut yogurt instead of ice cream. And sometimes I use maple syrup but wasn't feeling it today as I'm trying to lower my sugar intake atm. But they taste SOOO delish and totally fulfil my cravings! So I don't restrict myself or deprive myself of things like pancakes, I just opt for a healthier version. This keeps me right on track with my healthy lifestyle🙏🙏 Let me know if you would like the recipe to make these little gems☺️
I was bloated every single day no matter how much or how little I ate...I would be this bloated even when I hadn't eaten in 12 hours. I felt like I didn't want to do anything, and my tummy ruled my day. It determined what I did, what I wore, what I ate and how I felt. So I was pretty determined to #beatthebloat . The "lupus rash" was also my accessory at the time which was great.
After months of persevering, trying everything from different supplements and tonics to completely changing my diet.. I have BEATEN THE BLOAT!!! I no longer feel worried about if I will be bloated when I go out and it's not on my mind 24/7. I don't worry when an event pops up on Facebook. I can wear my old gym tops to the gym and feel comfortable. And I feel more bouncy, rather than sluggish. It's been a process but it is SO worth it!
I can go into much more detail about what I did if you guys are interested, but I will say a few things that REALLY helped me have been consistently taking a quality probiotic every single day, working out which foods bloat me, taking herbal supplements before meals, adjusting my diet in the initial stages & reducing stress. If you get one thing from this post, please know that if you're bloated you aren't stuck like this forever. Things will improve and you will get back to your normal self 💗
Guys I've decided my absolute ideal night is a dinner party with friends. It's literally so. Much. Fun?? I loved making all the food (especially these platters) and I spent an embarrassingly long amount of time in the supermarket deliberating over every purchase, and questioned every decision after that too🤷♀️You could hear me saying things like "do you think this blueberry looks okay here?" "What about these almonds?" "omg GET THAT STRAWBERRY OFF" The whole time 🤣 #seriousquestions#overlycommitted . Anyway these platters are Claireified (minus the cheese), and I subbed in healthy chocolate and brown rice and quinoa crackers 🤗 I think they were a hit! What are your fav things to have on platters!?
