I’ve finally booked a MUA for our wedding 🙌🏼 If you are looking for a MUA here are some tips 1) Reach out to many different MUAs. I’ve contacted many and only about half have replied. If someone is not responding to your emails or phone calls within a reasonable amount of time, cross them off your list. Your money is clearly not important to them and I’m sure your special day isn’t either. You don’t want to book a flakey MUA. 2) Do your homework before you book a makeup trial. If you don’t like their portfolio work you most likely won’t like your trial look. 3) If you are not happy with the trial, don’t book him/her. I had three trials (all of which had great portfolios) and hated the first two. I ended up booking the last MUA I did a trial with. Beautiful work and very professional! 4) Dirty makeup is NOT ok! I was in complete disbelief when a MUA at a high-end salon used the mascara wand OUT OF THE ORIGINAL MASCARA TUBE on my lashes and then stuck it back in the tube. That is so gross 🤮 5) Lastly, tip generously. Makeup is suppose to be fun and is completely subjective. If you think the makeup/technique is bad, don’t book them for your date but don’t stiff them on a tip. In my opinion, that is classless.
I’ve been documenting this for the past few days. My dermatologist gave me a sample moisturizer for my dry/sensitive skin. I started using it just before Christmas while traveling. My skin was feeling dryer than normal (I assumed from the weather) so I started slathering this stuff on. Then my face started hurting...like a lot. The cold has never irritated my skin this bad and I slowly realized it was this moisturizer that was eating my face. I immediately stopped using the product and have been moisturizing with my normal moisturizer. Unfortunately I didn’t catch this quick enough and am really suffering the consequences. This is so painful and I’m currently shedding like a snake. These three pictures took place over 4 days. I didn’t do my research on this product because I assumed the professional knew what was right for me. Lesson learned. Always make sure you do your own research. #dermatologistfail#skincare#dryskin#reaction#moisturizer#sensitiveskin#hyaluronicacid#thishurts#doyourresearch
2017 was good to me in so many ways. I got engaged, took a promotion, did some work around the house and strengthened some relationships. I’m so happy with my life and excited to see what 2018 brings 🥂
