On Tuesday, July 10th - The Māla received a generous donation from boy scout, Kai (Russʻs son) and Russ (Health counselor here at KCC). The donation was part of a proposed initiative by Kai to plant 6 ʻōhiʻa lehua mamo throughout the KapCC campus that would also fulfill his boy scout project. Organized by the KCC Native Hawaiian Plant Advisory Committee and the KCC Auxiliary team, there is now six newly plant ʻōhiʻa lehua in effort to increase native Hawaiian plants on the campus.

Congrats to our STEM Team Kūlia i ka Nu‘u!
Our Team placed second in the First Nations Launch National Rocket Competition. The First Nations Launch Program invites student teams from tribal colleges and American Indian Society of Engineering student chapters from across the country to design, build and fly a competition rocket. As a tribal college, our students were challenged to build a “true scale” model that closely approximates the design of a current or retired rocket or missile.
We’re so proud of our pre-engineering students, Alan Toetu‘u Tupou, Leiolani Malagon-Leon, Kayla Valera, Kahikimaianakekupulaniokala‘ake Lauolefiso “La‘a” Ali‘ifua and Mikayla Shankles!
