Big Cat Business Trip Tips🐆👇
🍷 Drink white wine, not red. Seeing purple lips in the bathroom mirror during the meet and greets is no fun!
👚 Pack a lint roller. Fur babes love to sprinkle their fur to go, and TRUST me, you’ll find it everywhere.
🕊 Go to the Meet and Greet/Welcome Party the night before the conference and meet AS MANY people as you can. 👈 I dreaded this one, but pushed myself to do it and I feel way more confident going into my seminars today with friends to sit with.
🥃 During Meet and Greets keep a drink in your hand ((water works too!)) and just slightly sip. This gives something for your hands to do, and your mouth to do if there’s a lull in conversation.
👛Pack a wristlet with two compartments. One compartment for your business cards and one for those you collect. Plus, wristlets keep your hands open for handshakes ((and wine)).
👗 Bring cardigans, heavy blazers, and thick socks. For some reason the men of this world love to freeze us women out of the work space. Combat this with fuzzy socks and warm coffee.
🍩 When the hotel forgets your breakfast service *I won’t name names* Starbs always has your back.
To be honest, this is my first business trip and I’ve dreaded having to solo network all week. BUT I met some cool cats last night and these tips are what I’ve learned so far. The best thing I’ve learned is that networking is NOT AS SCARY as you think it’ll be. You can do this! 💯
