Art by Harry Lange. Donkeys years ago, in 1976, my Dad got pissed with Harry Lange in the local Country Club, Winkers farm. They both liked a tipple. We lived near to Pinewood studios which is where Harry was working on Star Wars at the time, released the following year in 1977. He was the artistic director. Somehow my father persuaded him, probably with the aid of some Scotch, to sketch his 3 horses that he was pretending to be able to keep on our tiny 1 acre farm. I remember him telling me he paid 50 quid each for them. £150. Not an entirely small amount in 1976. So now I have these lovely sketches of Smoked Salmon, Nero and Hard Phoenix. 😊 Drawn by the artistic director for Star Wars. He also worked on the epic 2001: A Space Odyssey, all 3 Star Wars films, the Dark Crystal, Moonraker, Superman II, Monty Python and the Muppets. He also designed for Nasa. Journey to the Stars, later renamed 2001: A Space Odyssey, nearly won him and his team an oscar for best art direction, but they lost out to, Oliver. So that's nice. I don't know if they are worth anything?
