Looking forward to this weekend for 2 reasons: 1) the first day of Fall & 2) our annual "Welcome Fall Picnic"! This is a really fun tradition I created years ago with the 2 girls who live next-door to me. You should try it… It's fun!
We've been celebrating the arrival of Fall together for over 10 years and all it involves is creating a craft, making an autumn snack & spending time together to usher in the amazing season of Fall. And I always give them a treat bag of little, inexpensive but fun goodies at the end. 😉
This tradition started once my 4 boys grew up. The 2 girls next door & I came up with the idea to start welcoming in Fall. They get to imbibe in a little extra love & attention from me & I get to enjoy the fun of having the girls over for the day. One of them is getting ready to head off to college and when I asked her if she wanted to stop our tradition (wondering if she might think it's silly now), I received a firm & absolute "No!" That secretly warmed my heart. 💕😊💕 Whenever it comes to an end, I love the idea that they will always have the memory of our "Welcome Fall Picnic", once they've moved away, and maybe even create one with their own children someday. 😊 I'll post photos of what we did (this year) next week.
LOL... me & my shadow.
Art is everywhere & in everything, BUT full disclosure....
this is how you entertain yourself on walk #2 (the dog's turn) while our "Miss Lilly Grace" sniffs every, single blade of grass. 😉🐕🌱 #walk#dog#grass#shadow#photography#creative#art
Florida lawns are full of mushrooms right now, in all shapes and sizes. This is just one of the unique & unexpected surprises in my yard today. Evidently, they are friends of the eco-system because they break down organic material into nutrients for your soil. Who knew? 🤷🏼♀️
And although only 1% of mushrooms are poisonous, it's best to steer your pets clear of them. I hope you're having an awesome Labor Day weekend!
