So I thought I would give you guys some ideas of how you can get some more nutritious food into your kids diets without them realising.

Disguise it in foods that they like. Grating carrot or throwing some spinach into a spaghetti bolognese or shepherds pie is a great way to get some good food in them without them even realising.

Pick some strong coloured fruit they like, something like strawberries,banana, and make a milkshake with some spinach in there and maybe a squeeze of honey to make it a bit sweeter. They just think it’s a nice thick milkshake little do they know there is some green in there as well. Get them to help you make it they enjoy that.

Freeze it in a lolly, use lots of tasty fruits to disguise some things you know they won’t eat and blend it up then freeze it.

Let them pick their own. Kids love being involved and sometimes they are more likely to try something if they are involved in picking it themselves. It’s fun it’s a game to them.

But just remember this I eat plenty of things now I wouldn’t touch when I was a kid and so do you. If they love a particular piece of fruit or veg just give them more of that, eventually they will be open to trying more.

If you are a bit stiff if your shoulders and upper back your arm will sit in front of your head and drop forwards when you go down into a lunge.To start maybe try without a weight and see how you get on with your range of motion first before adding weight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Due to the exercise being one handed and having to balance with your arm extended overhead your core activation is going to be insane.

Sunday’s are about long country walks for us.exercise outside the gym is important as well for variety. We spend about 90% of the walk having to role play just so he doesn’t get bored and moan his legs are tired. I have been a power ranger, peter rabbit, sonic, a lion and many other things in the space of a couple of hours. We are made to believe the only way to actively lose weight is go to the gym, but as you have kids finding time to get to the gym can be difficult. So you just have to work with what you’ve got and long family walks is a good idea. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But if you eat healthy, teach them about the importance of good nutrition, you exercise around them and show them how active you are. Even just going out for walks as a family regularly, then there is a high chance they will think all that stuff is normal and just gravitate towards doing it when they grow up.

We have a duty as parents to lead by example. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our kids look up to us they idolise us in their early years, Yea when they become teenagers they don’t want to be seen dead with us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But what happens in their house is normal to them everything we do is normal as far as they know that’s what happens in every house. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you sit around eating junk food, binge watching tv never getting out the house and getting active. That will be the norm to them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When they get older they will do the same things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But if you eat healthy, teach them about the importance of good nutrition, you exercise around them and show them how active you are. Issues with weight is one of them.

Childhood obesity is on the rise and I think it’s due to these things.

Access to technology like never before.
Phones,iPads, Nintendo’s the list goes on and my son definitely plays on all of these, so I’m just as much of a culprit for doing this. It’s easy as a parent to just go here watch this or play that while we are trying to get something else done. But the more time they spend sitting is less time exercising and burning calories using up all the energy they have.

Watching other kids play, don’t get me wrong Arthur loves a bit of Ryan’s toy review but I’m lucky he also can’t sit still for long and has a huge imagination but a lot of kids spend too much time watching other kids play rather than actually playing themselves.

Food is everywhere, access to it is so easy now. Supermarkets are set up in a way to entice you into things often the wrong things.

When kids get older and are in charge of their own food choices a bit more it’s so much easier for them to keep making the wrong choices.

Lastly it’s a lack of education from school to at home with the parents. It’s not the parents fault it may be a lack of their own education and then it’s a vicious cycle. We are hugely influenced by the people we grow up around and what examples they set good or bad.

Maybe looking at this it may ring a few alarm bells with you and actually make you think yea maybe the kids need to do a bit more activity or spend less time on this or that. No ones perfect, I’m not. Like I said my son does all of the above but I’m also conscious of feeding him good food and making sure he’s active.

So yea looks highly unlikely you will ever get a good nights sleep again.

But don’t fear although a regular good nights sleep does help if you are dieting, you can still lose weight without always getting the best nights sleep.

Before I had my son I used to train 5-6 days a week it was awesome. But since I’ve had him especially when he was a small baby that just isn’t sustainable. I tried to keep it up but you just end up burning out.

So what I’m trying to say is just make the best of what you’ve got, yea if certain scenarios were different you might find it easier to lose weight but hey... your a parent now so nothing is easy anymore.
