So I tweaked my hamstring this morning...
We had shop PT this morning, which consisted of a beach run.  At the end, we did sprints, racing against other Marines.  I didn't lose, but I paid for it!  At the end of one of the sprints I felt a pop in my left hamstring.  I was pretty positive I knew what had happen, so I hobbled off the beach.  Lesson: don't go 100% in an activity to witch you are not conditioned kiddos!
Fast forward to tonight.  I had 525lb for a single scheduled for today's squats, but I knew that wasn't happening.  I figured I would do some air squats, bench, and air RDLs.  @austin_barbellmedicine encouraged me to at least get under the bar.  The first set of 5 with just the bar hurt, but the subsequent sets with just the bar felt better.  I started to add weight and warm up my fahves, slowly and cautiously. Almost like tempo work.  Ended up working up to 365lbx5, which was more challenging due to the tempo than the weight. 
Bench was nothing special to report.
I did some partial ROM RDLs, down to my knee caps, but the pain was not improving with each set so I didn't push it. 
We will see how it's doing tomorrow!

I took this opportunity to work the oly lifts, something I don't do too often!

I took this opportunity to work the oly lifts, something I don't do too often! With Josh and Shelly's help, I worked up to a 80kg snatch for a #PR , and a 110kg clean. Quick bench meet recap from yesterday:
I got home from Italy at 0300 after 26hrs of travel due to weather delays...
The warm up comp rack was missing the adjustment pins, so we warmed up out of the bottomed-out squat hooks...
All that being said, I had a great time at a small, mostly Marine meet!  It was good to see a bunch of first-timers get hooked on powerlifting!
My 2nd attempt at 385 moved well, no grind.  I decided to go for 405 for a lifetime PR.  At about 4 inch off of my chest, the bar got stuck for about 5 seconds before I couldn't push any longer! (No vid)  All and all, a had a good time, but I want that 4 plate bench!!

Squat 530lb 3rd attempt (#PR)
Comp bench 385lb 2nd attempt (waived the 3rd)
Deadlift 495lb 1st attempt (2nd attempt of 520lb stay glued to the floor,... twice).
Mock total of 1410lb at 205lb BW.
If this was at a meet, it would be a 87lb total PR up from 1323lb (back in 2016...).
Weird afternoon.  I didn't expect the squat PR, but it was moving well despite an abbreviated taper.
I was expecting/planning to hit 405 on bench for a PR, but that wasn't in the cards, as my 2nd attempt bench took 5 seconds on the way up.
I picked my deadlift attempts overly optimistic on purpose; I wanted to hit a PR  before our workup gets in full swing. Swung for the fences, so to speak...
Moving forward, I won't have a consistent enough schedule to train regularly, so I won't be posting regularly. 
All that said, I may do the bench only meet next Saturday; I just won't be able to train between now and then....
Thanks for all of the support the last 11 weeks!  I'll post regularly again once my schedule gets more consistent.

I had a conference pop up for work, so now I won't be able to make my upcoming meet.  So, I decided to move my test day to just before the Memorial Day 96.  Is it optimal?  No, but life is rarely "optimal."
Today, I hit my "openers," which are subject to change.  These reps definitely didn't move like openers, but that was to be expected after a bunch of pin work on Thursday.  Pin work tends to be more fatiguing that normal lifts, IMO.

Overall, everything felt a little off today.  I overshot my bench single.  When you have 1@ 8 then 2@ 9 programmed, you better be on point with your RPE!  Otherwise, you are going to miss a rep.
I'm starting to notice some pain in my left hamstring and/or adductor orgin... I'm not too concerned about it not, but I definitely felt it during my squats. 
Someone asked about rows on my last post, so I included them today.
Lastly, I found out I may have to miss my upcoming bench comp due to work.  Bummer.

Last day training aboard Little Creek, so still no training footage... Deadlifts were still iffy, due to the 12 sided plates. I worked up to a heavy single which moved fast, but my back rounded off of the floor and my alt grip was stopping. I'm convinced the two are related; it's hard to focus on holding your back flat when the bar is slipping out of your hand! All I got to say is I can't wait to peak for my bench meet! I apologize for the poor angle, but this is all I got... I had to covertly record IOT check pin height (only 315 shown, 425lb was @ 9). The base gym doesn't allow cameras, so....
Sometimes it's cool to train at a different gym.  I had a few folks come to me to ask about technique, programming, and training in general.
My plan called for pin bench press today, but I didn't have to setup to pin bench.  Instead, I used a 3ct paused spoto press (3in above the chest). I probably looked like a half repping ego lifter, but whatever!
This morning's workout:
Spoto press 370lbx1, 325lbx6
Pin squat 425lbx1 (#PR), 360lbx6
Sloppy RDL rows 225lbx5
Dimel deads 275lbx5
Pre/rehab hammer curls

AM training session today at Little Creek.  No videos today...
Deadlifts went well today, despite using 12-sided plates... I had to really control the eccentric with these garbage plates, but you gotta do what you gotta do.  Reps were slow off of the ground, and my back stayed flat.  Good stuff!
PRed my comp bench, so that's cool.
