Still chugging away at my backlog! My latest post is from an extremely hot July day, so far away from the current weather it doesn't even seem real. We made a little weekend drive to Anoka to the @10kbrewing taproom. We'd visited before but this time I took notes! See more photos and read all about it in the blog. Link in bio.
Got a chance to catch up with my brother-in-law last night. It was late and we hadn't eaten yet so @woodenhillbrewing was as good an option as any. I didn't try their food on our last visit and I was pleasantly surprised with just their house burger and fries! I don't see my future without another.
I'm waiting for a particularly snowy winter day to visit @waldmannbrewery. They've renovated the oldest commercial building in St. Paul, and they have a lovely front room that is all sorts of cozy! Anyone been there?
What's your favorite brewery mural? One of my favorite things to see when visiting a taproom is some crazy art. The Twin Cities have some really neat ones, so I'm looking for more for an upcoming post. Let me know by leaving a comment!
If you haven't read my latest blog post, now is the time! It's about my experiences at @lakemonsterbrewing, which is easily my most visited brewery. Their patio is one of my favorites and the taproom itself is pretty great too! Link in bio.
I've visited @lakemonsterbrewing more than any other brewery. They are so close to work that we have fairly regular happy hours there. What took me so long? Find out in the latest blog post, link in bio!
After our adventure in Excelsior we weren't quite ready to pack it in. A short drive later and we were sipping on a couple of @enkibrewing brews! If you've been there, what do you think of their new (well newer) taproom?
It's that time of year again! There is Christmas music on the radio so I've got to surrender to the season. We stopped at the Excelsior Christkindlsmarkt on Saturday and I grabbed an @excelsior_brewing Blond Ale with a chocolate graham cracker rim and a marshmallow. Even though it was chilly out, it got me in the mood for Christmas!
What's your favorite coffee beer? Leave it to my lovely coffee drinking wife to order the @woodenhillbrewing Caramel Frap during our mini date night on Friday. I would've liked more coffee roast flavors throughout, but it was enough to get the ball rolling!
A wooden hill flight at the @woodenhillbrewing taproom! This is one of the closest breweries to us but last night was the first time we've visited. We'll definitely be back! Very family friendly, bright colors, and some decent beer.
Just published a post on my blog about our blustery June trip to @earthriderbeer and their magnificent @cedarloungebeer! Not only was the beer absolutely fantastic, but the taproom changed everything I thought I knew about bars. If you're in Duluth you've got to take the short drive and visit them. While you're there try the Valhalla Scotch Ale. It might be my favorite beer in that style that I've ever had. Cool name too! Read more on the blog, link in bio.
If you haven't been to @surlybrewing yet, choose Tuesday for lunch to avoid the crowds. I paired their Longbottom Brown Ale with a pulled pork sandwich and had a delightful time with an old coworker! Currently looking for more ways to work delight into my daily life. Good beer is a good start.
Yeah it was three months ago but when it's single digits in my way into work I think I deserve a little leeway to reflect on this summer. It was a big year! I'm now a proud father of a baby girl and, while she's been to a lot of breweries so far, @coppertrailbrewingco was her first. The staff was so nice to us and made us feel welcome with our one week old!
This is the earliest I've contemplated why I live in Minnesota. Usually I start to have a crisis in March, but this bad weather has gotten to me already. Maybe a little @badweatherbrew will turn me around?
