I want to forget them all // To give my attention to: / frangipani leaves uncurling // to the seeds, / to the beginnings; to one clear word for which / there is no disguise and no alternative. —Rosalind Brackenbury, ‘Poetry in Time of War’

Thanks to everyone who came to @ramonloyola1967’s memorial on Sunday, and to those who couldn’t attend but sent their good wishes. Thank you to Ramon’s family for attending - it was an honour and privilege to meet you. And thanks to those who read or spoke. It was a truly beautiful celebration of a beautiful soul.

Please join us in celebrating the life and work of our dear friend, poet and Verity La editor, @ramonloyola1967, with a memorial gathering on Sunday 30 September, 12-3pm, at The Friend in Hand Hotel, Glebe.
There will be readings of Ramon's poetry and tributes from friends. Food will be provided and drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
We would love it if as many of Ramon's friends, work colleagues and family as possible could speak and/or read a poem. Please leave me (Michele) a message if you would like to do that. If you can't be there but would like me to read something on your behalf, let me know.
We look forward to getting together and remembering the beautiful soul that was, and is, Ramon.
Vale, beautiful man. ‘how much feeling does the heart emit’ Ramon wrote in The Measure of Skin, his final poetry collection, ‘our minds glow in remembrance / and memory perseveres’ ❤️ #Repost @michele_seminara with @get_repost
It is with incredible sadness that I must let you know that our dear friend, poet and editor, Ramon Loyola, has passed away after suffering a brain aneurysm yesterday. His family have asked that we let everyone who knew and cared for Ramon know. Please share the sad news. A more beautiful, kind and gentle soul than Ramon did not exist. He will be sorely, bitterly missed. Rest In peace dear friend. ❤️
