Today the Ghia went back to its factory yellow. They're funny little cars with some weird curves and body lines but @joey705carlsonl is a great coach and yelled things at me while I sprayed so it didn't end up with runs in every little corner 😂 two or three little sags we'll polish out and get this thing back on the road.
Just submitted my last college assignment ever. A paper for my Innovation and Creativity class focusing on Ed Roth and his innovation and creativity in the custom car world. A good note to go out on? Seemed appropriate.
I'd say #schoolsoutforever but I need to make sure I passed the class first 😂
Senior project finished and presented the other night, another class out of the way and my final finals tonight. This was a fun one and applying the skills from both the Street Rod/Collision classes and the Technology Management side of my degree in a project management type team setting was a good culmination of most things I've learned in college. I couldn't have asked for a better team, everyone brought something different to the table making this a smooth and successful project. Thank you Greg, Hoon, Colby and McCall, best wishes to the rest of you following graduation.
Today started out cleaning pools as usual... and then half way through my cleaning route my car's fuel pump decided to tank, so Happy Birthday you get to push your car a couple times and then send it to the shop on a tow truck hahaha (Thanks for storing it Joe)... My wife picked me up, drove me around to finish cleaning pools, bought me breakfast, my in laws let me borrow their car, I drove to my other job, worked for awhile, a bunch of free tools showed up from winning that contest, then my previous boss shows up to the shop and we went to lunch with my new boss (they're brothers), worked the rest of the day and then went to school for 4 hours to keep working on my senior project, weld and thrash on the truck, Terry handed me a box with yet another tool from the Skills USA contest... all of this while stressing over my final set of finals the next 3 days and having my phone go crazy all day with calls, texts, facebook notifications of birthday wishes and coordinating group presentations/projects etc. It was a good birthday, definitely felt the love today despite the chaotic schedule I maintain. Now some more homework and possibly pinstripe a few things... I'll sleep when I'm dead I guess, Thank you everyone for your kindness and generosity! Oh and did I mention as of yesterday we're building a house?
It's been a good week at the shop. We shipped out my first complete paint job without any major hiccups on the Duramax and we got the Ghia in primer today. I've learned a ton in the last month and a half and look forward to what we've got coming up in the next few weeks.
This summer has been my least favorite semester in 5 years of college. Aside from the one night a week I get to work on my truck, these other classes have been the worst. If you've been one of the people that's asked me about pinstriping recently, thanks for being patient. After the 10th I'm going to catch my breath and hopefully start playing catch up on a long list of overdue projects.
In response to @andyspinstriping sounding like Samuel Jackson asking "What's in your pocket? (wallet... capital one...)"... this is what I found. And yes I wish I had full scale versions of both the car and the Iwata... #anestiwata#iwata#hotwheels#custom53chevy
