‘Four continuous, flowing volumes coalesce to create an internal world of continuous open spaces within Galaxy Soho – a new office, retail entertainment complex devoid of corners or abrupt transitions – a re-inventing of the classical Chinese courtyard which generates an immersive, enveloping experience at the heart of Beijing.’ Source: @zahahadidarchitects
What do you think about the design of the Urban Cabin in Beijing?
Reflection is the overall theme of it, so it's design is inspired by a reflection on one of the cities most traditional living concepts, the Hutong: a form of courtyard residencies that combine private and public space.
Through the reflecting materials used and the telescope mirrors on the ceiling, the Urban Cabin reflects the environment and its modern architecture. It also invites the visitors to reflect about the space in Beijing and how they see the growth of the cities in the future.
MINI LIVING will also be in Shanghai next year, this time with the first habitable residential project of an innovative co-living concept. Looking forward to seeing it finished!
