Finally the quarter century has arrived! - Its been one hell of a year that is for sure! I am so very grateful for the year i have had and having shared it with so many great and wonderful people (I have just done an awfully crap job of posting it here on Instagram). I can only hope that 2019 onwards will be just as good for me! With a New year coming i am very much focused on pushing myself faaaaaar out of my comfort zone for my career as a filmmaker and photographer and really seeing how much i am able to create and do within a year and to share all the many failures and success as they come. Where ever in the world you may be Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to come! - Going for that Clint Eastwood look atop a mountain boarding Montana and Wyoming.
Montana travels part 2 - My beautiful woman @avivii_ walking around the grass in search of my missing lens cap . Having visited Montana in the Summer and experiencing its extremely bipolar weather, I would love to see this great state covered in a blanket of snow in the winter time! Also had my first experience of 4th of July outside the big cities of New York and LA. Still a great experience but nothing quite beats an early July 4th morning Malibu surf session!
My wonderful, magnificent, beautiful, loving, titan slaying muse @avivii_ sitting amongst the grass over looking one of the beautiful lakes Montana has to offer. A great day watching the sun set over the lake while losing a lens cap and avoiding and any and all spider interactions amongst the grass and trees (spiders are just the foulest, ugliest things on the plant apart from an Octopus! As you can tell i don’t like spiders or Octopi very much) exploring Montana with has been one of the highlights of my year so far! A quiet but beautiful state with some of the most amazing views i have ever come across in my travels! Be sure to place Montana on your list of places to go and try to check out a rodeo if you can as its a whole load of fun!
Back to snapping around Batu Caves in Malaysia with my one and only @avivii_ We were on the hunt for monkeys that day as i could quite literally sit and watch monkeys for hours as its more entertaining than the majority of Netflix originals coming out these days. Sadly no monkeys to be found apart from one lonely monkey next to the bathroom waiting to steal peoples food at a moments notice. But a fun day sweating and capturing the temples beauty! Highly recommend it should you be taking a trip down to KL (plus its free entry!) travel as much as you can while you can and capture it all through a lens! - This post was sponsored by Jack Daniels! When you think Whisky, think Jack Daniels!...... (Not actually sponsored by JD)
Happy 4th of July my American friends and family! I hope you have a great day of fireworks and fun with a side of freedom! - My trip to Montana is coming to a close sadly as i prep to get back on the metal bird to LA. I can honestly say never in my life did i imagine i would come to see the big sky state but after being here for a good amount of time i can honestly say how happy and blessed i am to have seen the beauty that this state has to offer. The beauty of traveling! I will be sure to come back in the near future and to capture as much of its beauty for you all to see! Once again if you should ever get the chance to visit Montana, DO IT! - A nice quick edit i created that aims to get that winter feel to what i would imagine Montana looking like in the later parts of the year (and because winter is my favorite season of the year) - I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! And to everyone not in the US a great Wednesday!
Never did i picture being able to see and experience this beautiful part of world. But i am so very grateful and lucky to see it with you side by side - It feels so very good to be back state side once again and back to LA. For the past couple weeks ive had a break and explored around Big Sky country Montana with the magnificent and beautiful woman i feel so very luck to call my own @avivii_ i highly recommend a trip to Montana to all of those that wish to travel across the US - I recently just finished an amazing photo manipulation course by the great @visualsofjulius his work and courses are truly out of this world and i would highly recommend taking a look at his work and tutorials! I created this piece from his tutorial guide and felt it looked so very similar to the wild of Montana it would be a perfect chance to post! Big thank you once again @visualsofjulius
- The coldest of days with you are still the best and most beautiful of days -The white wolf and the silver fox over the mountain range - As of recently, I have been struggling with a lack of creativity (both in my filmmaking and photography). Like most creatives this happens constantly and it's just a case of continually powering through and grinding on your craft. So I came to the conclusion that a new plan of action was needed in order to become as creative as possible and to putting my all into my work. With out a plan there is no way to achieve your goal. So in short I will be creating more content and work over the coming weeks. For all of you out there that are in a creative rut, keep hope and work hard and the rest will follow I promise. I hope you all have a great day and continue to do what makes you happy in this big wide world!
The return to the desert sands - The travels continue! This time a quick weeks break to see the Egyptian Pyramids of Giza with the wonderful @avivii_ a great break away from the London weather and a much needed R&R and reunion with the family. after a good long two years I finally returned to the desert! Having grown up in the desert it felt oddly homely to see it again. Productions have been nice and crazy busy hence my apologies for going completely MIA. Il be posting more consistently and updating you all on my work, productions and travels in the works! I hope everyone has a mighty fine weekend! And always keep creating!!!
Into the great unknown we wander - second attempt at a surreal photo manipulation! Having a real blast getting these edits going in my down time before i fly off. Even with the struggles of learning it from scratch its something thats really growing on me and something certainly new and different from the day to day screenwriting! A huge thank you to @brnwills for his youtube tutorial and stock images! One of the best tutorials on photo manipulation out there! Be sure to check him out if this is something you want to have a go with! As always i hope everyone has a truly wonderful day and weekend to come! Keep creating!
Within the running waters and red bloom - hand me a camera and a gorgeous location and I’m a happy man! As of recently I’ve been getting myself back into the rhythm of picking up my camera and exploring everything that surrounds me as much as possible. Most days you wont come home with that gold picture but when the day finally comes and you capture the perfect picture you’ll be happy you got out and there and didn’t miss it for a single moment! I highly recommend all my filmmakers and photographer friends to get out and simple CREATE! Use that creative skill within you and show it for the world to see! Its not easy and it can be really difficult to put your work out there in the public for world to see and critic but if you don’t fail and don’t try then success and your dreams wont just fall into your hand for you. If you want something and i mean truly want something then simply go for it as there isn’t anything that can stop you! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a great weekend ahead! - photo taken by the wonderfully dynamic duo over at @triggerhappycreative go check them out as they are smashing out some great content constantly! Edited by yours truly and the camera in the picture is the Lumix GH5 with a canon 70-200mm f2.8.
Monkey trouble at monkey hill, Thailand! Should you ever find yourself in Phuket Thailand, Monkey Hill is an interesting place to get some great photos of the wild monkeys that inhabit the hill. Just be sure to keep your pockets empty and your eyes on your backpack as the monkeys have no understanding of personal property! - looking into a monkeys eyes through the sights of your lens is such a rewarding and satisfying feeling which i wish ever filmmaker and photographer could experience for themselves!
The roaring laying Tiger - capturing this shot was honestly so damn satisfying and rewarding! But il always dream of the day when i get the chance to swap out the tigers for the wild and beautiful alaskan wolves! probably one of the highest experiences on my bucket list! - Pick up a camera today! Any camera! and simply go out and take photos of what ever captures the attention of your eye!
A life looking through the lens with the roaring tiger - when it comes to photos nothing excites me more than the wildlife of this planet! But the number goal in my life with my camera is to capture a single shot of wild alaskan wolves! As soon as i have that photo i can die happily and peacefully ! - Shot using the Canon 5D Mark3 and the Canon 70-200mm f2.8
Chasing waterfalls in the heart of Wales - My first experience of seeing the Lumix GH5 and what its capable of and i am impressed! Most probably one the best bang for your buck cameras out there on the market at the moment! Last few days back home in UK before i get back on the plane to the next destination! Had a truly great 3 weeks here and after 6 years of being away it was a much needed return to see the family and friends once again!
The beautiful big eyes of the worlds largest land wandering mammal - stumbled upon this beautiful animal along on my journey through the island of Phuket Thailand. They may be large and intimating at first glance but they are some of the most gentle and loving animals wandering this planet! Shot using the Canon 5D Mark 3 and the Canon 70-200mm F2.8
The Blue Marble - a quick peek into a project i have been working on in the last few weeks for the Cinespace 2017! Created with the extraordinarily talented composers @jpkabche @jelugoc ! All space footage comes courteous of the NASA official Archives. Was real good fun to go through all the footage i have collected during my travels across the Asia n continent and to create a cinematic journey that blends with the themes of space and what the future of space travel has in store for the human race! The full video will be up on the SRJFilms website in the coming days as well as Vimeo/Youtube - Now back to the larger scale productions and i couldn't be more excited to share with you all as they progress closer and closer to the shoot dates!
BIG BEAUTIFUL EYES! - Met this beautiful 2 year old Bengal tiger on my trip to Thailand a few weeks back! When your face to face with such a beautiful and gentle beast it truly makes you feel alive! More of a house cat than a man eater and extremely vocal. If you ever get the chance to go to Phuket i highly recommend taking the trip into a cage with these big playful animals! It will truly change your life and your perception of these great big cats - shot on the Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70-200mm MK II F2.8 -
