Quite a task to have this baby photographed professionally. Thank goodness my garage was large enough. @steveroast from Art Assist working his magic again. Commissined artwork, "Meander" 120 x 250 cm soon to head to it's owner in Robertson #commission#oilpainter#supportartists
Should I call this painting of a pincushion "Pinning my Hopes?" Value any inputs here. Pincushions are flourishing in Cape Town at the moment.
Oil on stretched box canvas, 100 x 95 cm. Currently being varnished in my studio. #available
I'm working on another tanker - the stern just worked quickly and easily. Sometimes it goes like that, certain areas work while others take effort and reworking. I have the entire sky and sea to deal with and have no idea what to do. I want to give myself permission to play and not fret over messing up any of the good areas....and so I'm declaring it here. I have learnt over time that it's just a canvas (and won't bite - it's only my own judgement that can sting bitterly), I have learnt that I need to work over it, mess it up, freak out, let it rest, yet come back to the canvas and try again. Perseverance and kindness to oneself is essential in this rollercoaster, self-criticising journey. One which I wouldn't replace for any other job in the world. #kindness#lovingmydayjob#keeptrying#perseverance

What colours resonate with you? Some just set your heart alight and others remind you of those you love. My daughter connects with teal, purple and mint that will forever be hers. My son was drawn from a young age to bright bold reds, yellows and cheery oranges....offset by grey. My husband the aqua of his eyes. Take a moment and see what colours connect you to those you love. Have some fun and share your insights. Its refreshing.
Not too long ago I participated in a fundraising collaboration of local artists. A delicious meal was served followed by a festive auction. I am honoured that esteemed ocean advocate Lewis Pugh bought my artwork "The Lookout" (http://lewispugh.com/) #supportinglocal
Monday and its probably a good idea to start the week with some fun. Working on a piece for my brother and we decided to have some underpainting fun together. Loving the colours we have created. We have no idea if this is going to work, but nothing ventured... #colourburst#underpainting#remembertoplay
Why do flamingos appeal to us so much? Their colouring? Lengthy limbs? This image I captured up the West Coast and it reminded me of a ballet tutu going awol. I'm having fun with these smaller pure palette knife paintings on board. Available once its dry. Message me if interested #originalartforsale#flamingo#paletteknifepainting#southafricanartist
The gorgeous colours of South Africa's west coast. What a place to rejuvenate heart and soul and stretch the legs during wonderful flower-filled inland stretches and desolate beach Walks. #heaven#soulfood#sofortunate#explorelocal
Getting over nerves and starting a new large piece. All you artists know what I mean when it's the beginning of an artwork and the blank canvas is calling out to you... Don't mess me up! #breakbarriers#justdoit#itsonlycanvas#havefun
