Love this, worth a follow on Twitter. An LA based producer posts intros for female leads in film scripts he reads. Ie first time character appears in the script, what we the reader need to know about them. All character names changes to Jane, otherwise verbatim.
Check out Jacobson brothers black comedy Brother's Nest. Great local film. Impressive. Saw it at the fabulous @suntheatre Congrats @jasonbyrne72 @jacobson.clayton @theshanejacobson Definitely worth the wait since #Kenny
If you haven’t seen #Gurrumul yet, make sure you see it in a cinema. Saw it last night at @cinemanova The story of the man, the voice, his family, community, revealing a way forward by listening with your heart to the past. An exquisite experience. Congratulations to the filmmakers.
When do you pop the champagne? When you write the first draft of your film? When you finally fix all the mistakes you discovered in the first draft? When you write your second draft, because you’re dreaming if you think your first draft will go into production? The third draft? Even when you feel like you are there with the script, more people get involved, more questions asked, more tweaks. That’s not counting the writing about the writing. Short synopsis, long synopsis, logline, theme, character breakdowns, scene breakdowns. Then if you are a writer director there’s the director’s statement, and capturing the visual storytelling. And then if you’re smart, there’s the audience and the genre and the market potential. Sometimes I think my friends wonder what I do all day, now that I have finished writing my latest film. #Goodgrief#writer#screenwriter#femalelens#indie#indiefilm
