It's Meet the Team Thursday here at Rydges Fortitude Valley and we want to introduce you to one of our chefs Gaetano!
Gaetano is originally from the region of Italy known as Apulia (the "heel" of Italy's boot!) and he showed us photos of the beaches and now we all want a holiday. Gaetano is an awesome asset to any kitchen as Apulia is actually known for their fresh produce to the point that most locals make a bulk of their food from scratch so we think it was pretty destined for Gaetano to become a chef! Gaetano initially moved to Australia for "an adventure" and loved it so much he ended up staying. We're happy to have you as part of the Rydges family Gaetano and thanks for giving us the idea of having our next staff retreat on the beaches of Apulia!
The Melbourne Cup is getting closer and we're ready to book your ticket! For only $59.00pp join us for a day filled with food, fun, fashion, and firefighters!

It's Meet the Team Thursday here at Rydges Fortitude Valley and we want to introduce you to one of our chefs Lachlan!
In the words of Lachy, "I knew this day was coming." Lachy has just recently finished his apprenticeship and is now one of the "big dogs" in the kitchen so a big congrats, Lachy! When Lachy isn't behind the scenes at Rydges Six Acres Restaurant, you can find him playing/watching soccer or relaxing by watching any number of films (he'd probably be a great person to have on your team for movie trivia nights!) Thanks for being a part of the Rydges family Lachlan and another congrats on finishing your apprenticeship!
It's Meet the Team Thursday here at Rydges Fortitude Valley and we want to introduce you to one of our F&B team members Ted!
Ted is originally from Sydney and is currently in Brisbane studying Paramedicine! When Ted isn't behind our Paddock Bar serving up drinks and chat or learning how to save lives, you can find him playing Rugby for a league in Brisbane or enjoying a nice frothy of his own. Ted said his favorite color is blue because it reminds him of the ocean and we could't tell if he was being serious or not so we're just going to include that snippet of information anyway. Thank you for being a part of the Paddock Bar team, Ted, and even though we'll be sad when you leave we hope you achieve your dream of moving to the United States once you've finished your studies!
It's Meet the Team Thursday here at Rydges Fortitude Valley and we want to introduce you to one of our chefs David!
David has been in Brisbane for 2.5 years after moving here from Salvador, Bahia! On his days off you can probably find him on one of Queensland's amazing beaches catching a wave or just out enjoying nature in general! His specialty (and personal favorite cuisine to eat) is seafood but you should probably come have a meal in our @SixAcresRestaurant and try it out for yourself! We're so happy you're a part of our Rydges family, David, and although we're sure Brazil misses you we're glad you've made Australia a 2nd home 😊
