I remind clients that train with me if you say “ I can’t “ or “it’s too hard” you will never see progress. I actively force them I repeat “I can” “I will”. By doing this and reinforcing any technique or particular exercise with tangible progressions the brain begins to rewire itself to the possibility of growth and success and the process of self empowerment begins. When considering the best training for weight loss it’s easy to fall into the cardio trap. For me I always start any program for a new client with a foundation in strength, from this we can build anything that we want. Recomposition is a difficult concept for newbies to understand and there is the inherent fear for females that they will become big and bulky with lifting but this is not true. Intermittent fasting is often a hot topic and controvertial one too. There are many ways to approach this method and like all diet changes takes discipline to execute and follow through effectively. The greatest successes I saw from IF were using the daily window fasting from 8pm to noon the following day. I used this during the highest training periods of my life for approx 2yrs straight on my build up to the 2010 olympics. During this time I maintained my lowest body fat, highest muscle mass and was the strongest in my career. Now everyone is individual and just because it worked for me doesn’t mean it works for everyone. The beauty of trial and error is that you get to figure out what makes you tick and with that comes a huge sense of control, satisfaction and achievement and helps to perpetuate any further routines. Play around take control , document what works and what doesn’t...... one life so live it by choice not by chance
