This conversation with Corinne reminded me of the importance of our internal focus. If we only observe our fearful thoughts, we live in a constant state of fear. What would happen if we focused on the higher power thoughts? I immediately found that my higher power thoughts were happy to speak up and affirm to me that I was doing a great job and had nothing to fear.

In this episode, Corinne and I talk about our experiences with anxiety attacks, how to calm yourself down when you are in the thick of one and why we need to be aware of the thought systems controlling our minds.

What I Learned: 
1️⃣The necessity of a respite from anxiety and fear in order to be able to have full control and awareness when it happens

2️⃣Learning about the fearful thought system and how it does not control your life, as long as you are aware it is there

3️⃣The importance of defining your fears and putting them on paper to gain your power back

Talking with Gina reminded me of the importance of removing my filter of judgement and to practice it in what seems like impossible situations, such as the current political state. The world is more divided than ever and Gina sheds light on the power of looking through a lens of change instead of hatred. As tough as it can be, we have to talk about these issues from a place of love so we can create change through leadership instead of division.

O M G| this beverage is life.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ O J A S drink 🌟1 cup raw whole organic milk or almond milk
🌟 10 almonds, soaked overnight, peeled and chopped
🌟 2 whole dates, chopped
🌟 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
🌟 1/4 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
🌟 1/4 teaspoon powdered cardamom
🌟 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
🌟 Pinch of saffron

Place all ingredients (except saffron) in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil. If you like, use a standing blender or immersion blender to blend the mixture to a creamy consistency. Pour in a mug and add a pinch of saffron. Enjoy!

A Y U R V E D I C| 🌱Kitchari Recipe🌱 This is what I’ve been eating for the last week for our #panchakarma retreat! honestly.. I still love it and could eat it every day! Here’s the recipe. 
Ingredients: * 🌱1 cup split yellow mung beans (moong dal)
* 🌱1 1/2 cups basmati rice
* 🌱6 cups filtered water
* 🌱1 bay leaf
* 🌱1 cinnamon stick
* 🌱2 teaspoons ground turmeric
* 🌱1 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
* 🌱1 teaspoon ground cumin
* 🌱Freshly cracked pepper to taste
* 🌱A pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt
* 🌱Fresh cilantro and lemon or lime juice to serve

Preparation
1. Rinse the mung beans and rice then add them to a large pot or Dutch oven.
2. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon, stick, spices, and salt then pour the water in. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low simmer and cook the mixture until all of the water has been absorbed (this took me about 25-30 minutes). Make sure to stir often so the bottom doesn’t burn.
3. Once all of the water has been absorbed, turn off the heat. Serve up your kitchari with a heavy sprinkling of fresh cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice.

A Y U R V E D I C| 🌱Kitchari Recipe🌱 This is what I’ve been eating for the last week for our #panchakarma  retreat! honestly.. I still love it and could eat it every day! Here’s the recipe. Ingredients: * 🌱1 cup split yellow mung beans (moong dal) * 🌱1 1/2 cups basmati rice * 🌱6 cups filtered water * 🌱1 bay leaf * 🌱1 cinnamon stick * 🌱2 teaspoons ground turmeric * 🌱1 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander * 🌱1 teaspoon ground cumin * 🌱Freshly cracked pepper to taste * 🌱A pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt * 🌱Fresh cilantro and lemon or lime juice to serve Preparation 1. Rinse the mung beans and rice then add them to a large pot or Dutch oven. 2. Add the bay leaf, cinnamon, stick, spices, and salt then pour the water in. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low simmer and cook the mixture until all of the water has been absorbed (this took me about 25-30 minutes). Make sure to stir often so the bottom doesn’t burn. 3. Once all of the water has been absorbed, turn off the heat. Serve up your kitchari with a heavy sprinkling of fresh cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice. The term Guru Purnima is paradoxical. ‘Gu’ implies darkness whereas ‘ru’ stands for dispelling form of darkness. Therefore, a guru is considered to be that person who removes all darkness from our lives and brings light. •
