Why is it that at nearly 35 weeks pregnant with twins, wearing hubby's jocks I loved my body more than I ever had before? 
Actually, it's pretty simple.. it's mindset. .

I decided early on in pregnancy that the only things I could control was how I moved my body & what I put in my mouth. I maintained my nutrition program & continued to exercise (with modifications as the pregnancy went on). How my body responded to & grew with pregnancy was totally out of my control. So I learned to embrace the changes.. the new curves, the dimples on my thighs, the fact I was the heaviest I'd ever been. Why? Because I knew what my body was creating. And now as a mama I have a new found love & respect for my body that I never thought possible. I've grown & given life to two humans and have fed them for 13+ months, is there anything more incredible?

My passion now is to empower other mamas & mamas to be to love the skin they're in and feel like the powerful women they truly are. .

Apart from teething, learning to walk & terrible night time wake ups we can now add shitty nap times to the list 😩 For the last 2 days the girls have fought me at afternoon nap time & haven't slept. It makes me think they're ready to drop to 1 nap but other days they sleep for 1.5-2 hours at both naps so who knows??

@twokidsraisingkids and I were talking about this whole concept of trial & error and it got me thinking.. it's literally how I've gotten myself through this motherhood journey thus far! And I realised that's because every baby is different, every situation is different and what we want from the outcome is different. The tricky part for me is having two babies and trying to meet both of their needs while we work everything out. What if one baby still needs two naps but the other doesn't? What if the naps affect how one sleeps at night but not the other? This constant back & forth happens a lot with twins (and would with siblings I imagine) because I'm always trying to manage the best interests of both babies. .
I know this is just another learning curve & I'll look back on this and wonder why I gave it so much energy so I'm trying to remember that now and go with the flow. In the end there's nothing I can really do about it! .
Have you had to do much trial & error through your motherhood journey? Do you find it easy to read your bubs signs? I don't always so I'd love to know what you guys look out for when they're transitioning ❀

My grooming habits aren't the topic here though.. you guys, I housewife'd today!! Like a legit pro I did washing, stacked & unstacked the dishwasher and got groceries all the while dealing with 2 babies who think napping is for pussys 😩 .
I know, I know this might sound like normal stuff a stay at home mama should do, but I'm not a normal stay at home mama, I'm a stay at home biz mama & I freaking love what I do! Today I put the finishing touches on a webinar I'm co-hosting, I spoke to some incredible mamas that are ready to live into their best selves & I got things in motion for a new project πŸ‘Š I do all of this when the girls sleep (or are in their cots at least πŸ˜‰) so it's a massive juggling act to try & get everything done but I wouldn't change it for the world. .

There was definieltly something in the air because I got so many replies to my stories from you guys sharing my pain. Maybe it's the change in the weather or the crazy storms we've been having that are waking them up? .
These 2 bad boys were my saving grace today.. a quick, easy, nutritious breaky & a hot coffee (yep you read that right, I had my coffee hot β˜•) but probably not for the reasons you would think.. My shakes are life to me, they fill me up, taste delicious & give me the energy I crave after a long night. Coffee to me isn't so much about the caffeine hit - although I'm not gonna lie, it does help sometimes. It's more about taking a moment to pause & reset. Putting my feet up on the couch with a shake & hot coffee while the girls destroy the playroom is something I really look forward to. I can switch my brain off for 5 minutes and ground myself ready to tackle the day ahead. Do you have something that gives you strength after a tough night?

Looking after my body (with my nutritional cleansing program & exercise) and my mindset (with podcasts, books & positive friends) has become even more important now that I'm a mum and it's something I focus on every day πŸ™
.

After 391 days of expressing I'm finally hanging up the pump πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ .
This pic was taken 4 days post birth (the bags under my eyes and the slowly reducing bump give it a way a little πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) where getting 20ml in 30 minutes was a huge achievement.

Initially I was expressing to help establish my milk supply so I could keep with the girls needs & give them top ups after a join feed as they were so small. We then just got into a routine of giving them a bottle of expressed milk as their last feed before bed. It just became a way of life after that & how we did things so I kept going. James loved giving the girls a bottle & seeing them bond was priceless. But about a month before their 1st birthday I really started resenting having to pump & decided I wanted to stop. If you're interested, I've explained in my stories how I went about stopping & how it's going to look for us going forward. .
For any mamas on their expressing/breastfeeding journey or if you'll soon be starting please remember you'll have food & bad days (just like anything) and it's not always easy but seeing your little bubba look up at you with pure love makes it all worth it ❀ .
I'm totally open to answering questions about expressing or breastfeeding so feel free to ask below or send me a DM. .

The girls have been a little grumpy today & very clingy 😭 I think it's a mixture of developmental stuff (taking steps), the 12 month regression + teeth. Plus they aren't sleeping well at night due to all of that going on so they're exhausted!

This might just look like a smoothie to you but to me it's so much more. This is legit my life saver on the reg as a mama. It's so easy to put yourself 2nd (or 3rd in my case) to your bubba because they are your life but let me ask you this.. where will they be left if you're not feeling your best? Screwed is the answer, so looking after yourself is not selfish, it's imperative FOR your bub. .

This is legit my life saver on the reg as a mama. It's so easy to put yourself 2nd (or 3rd in my case) to your bubba because they are your life but let me ask you this.. where will they be left if you're not feeling your best? Screwed is the answer, so looking after yourself is not selfish, it's imperative FOR your bub. . Oh laundry day, also known as errrryyyy damn day!!.

I didn't actually think babies (refusing to believe they are now classed as toddlers 😭) would create so much washing but holy shit it's crazy! The girls are into everything and mostly insist on feeding themselves so they are constantly dirty 😣 If you've watched my stories you wpukd have seen my laundry process which involves several stages of spraying, soaking, re-soaking, washing and often re-washing depending on how bad the stain is. And I'm not gonna lie, I've been known to ditch a few items of clothing that are just way to dirty to even attempt to clean πŸ™Š.
