We will be holding a post Thanksgiving Fundraiser Workout on Sunday, November 25th @9am and hope you and loved ones will join us. Donate as you see fit and all proceeds will go towards local organizations helping our community get back on our feet after the devastating shooting and fires. We can’t wait to be together, work off a little Thanksgiving dinner, and raise money for our neighbors & friends. We hope to see you there!

We’ve been searching for the words to adequately express our deep, sincere condolences to our community and what it has endured in the past 48 hours and is currently enduring. And there just aren’t any.
When the words aren’t there, we then aim to simply provide a safe, positive, inspiring space for our members and community. Currently, that space is under mandatory evacuation.
We may not have the words or the space to offer, but we want you to know your support system is still here and ready. If you or someone you know need extra hands or muscle to evacuate, we have able and willing bodies. If you need encouragement or advice in taking care of your bodies amidst these stressful conditions or maybe just a hug, we are a text or phone call away.
Take care of yourselves. Be smart. Know when you need help and be brave enough to ask for it. We’ll continue to check in with you until the WSPFamily is back in action ❤️ #WSPFamily

⛳️🏌🏽♂️I missed last week because I was out of town but we are back with Mobility Monday! Here we have a mobility exercise from Yoga. These are called Down Dogs and are great for opening up the thoracic spine, lower back and calves! Here’s how to do them:
• start in a push-up position
• pull your hips towards the ceiling • push through the ground and reach with your arms
• push your heels towards the ground for a calf stretch
• return back to your push-up position
Try these before your next workout or round of golf!
⛳️🏌🏽♂️Did you know right quads can cause knee, hip and back issues?! If you have tight quads try this stretch out!
•start by stand in front of a chair with a knee pad or pillow next to it
•take one foot and place it on the edge of the chair
•drop your knee down to the ground
•get tall so there is a straight line from your knee, hip, shoulder and head
•hold for 30s then switch
Give these a try before your workout or next round of golf!

Looking to loosen up your hips before a round of golf? Try out these Standing Supported Hip CARs for Mobility Monday! •stand with your foot, hip and shoulder against a pole or wall
•take the leg furthest away from the pole and bring your knee forward, as high as you can, while not arching or flexing back
•take your knee to the side, back and around
•retrace your circle starting from the back going to the front •repeat
Give these a shot next time you’re goin to workout or play a round of golf.

•start in a push-up position
•place one foot on-top of the other
•as you straighten your knee try to take your heel to the ground at the same time
Remember, all you’re looking for is light stretch. Give these a shot next time you workout or play a round of golf!
⛳️🏌🏽♂️I have a long post for you today with tons of information❗️ Last week I had the pleasure of meeting @lucydaviesgolf and seeing her new golf complex in Westlake Village. We had a great time talking about business, golf and clients. She mentioned how one of her clients had a problem with rotating into their left side, which is very common. Well, Lucy was willing enough to let me show her a couple of repositioning exercises that I thought would help.
Now, when I give my players repositioning exercises they always report how they feel a difference in their swing. This was the first time I could have actual data to back it up though! -First I had her warmup until she felt her swing was ready.When she felt good we took some video/pictures. In the first slide she noticed she wasn’t rotated as much as she wanted to be. -The next slide is a quick reference to how we want our ribcage lined up with our pelvis. This would be more important than giving her a bunch of stretches or using hip exercises to “activate her glutes”. If the core is not in the right position it will NOT matter!
-After I had her do 2 breathing exercises, we jumped back into her hitting bay to record some more video. On the 3rd slide you will see HUGE difference in how she is able to rotate into her left side. This after only 3min of getting her core in a better position!
-What is not shown, is how she gained 4 mph on her clubhead speed and her 7 iron had an additional 8 yards of carry! We also had her on a force plate and were able to see her weight shift was able to come onto her front leg more. -The last 2 slides are the two positions we worked on. They look weird but the whole point is to get the core in a better position. We are looking to line the ribcage with the pelvis. This instantly frees my athlete’s bodies for more mobility. -The key point here, is get your body in the right position/posture. It won’t matter how strong you are if your body won’t allow you to use your strength to the full potential.

⛳️🏌🏽♂️I missed my Mobility Monday yesterday so here it is! Here’s a great way to help loosen your upper back. I call these Child Pose T-spine Rotations. -start in your hands and knees
-sit back into your heels
-place one hand on top of your head
-take your elbow to the opposite knee
-rotate your shoulder and head up towards the sky/ceiling
Tries these out before your next round of golf or workout!

This Ryder Team consisted of Steve Pate, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, Davis Love III, Tom Lehman, Phil Mickelson, Jeff Margery, Justin Leonard, Mark O’Meara, Payne Stewart and Hal Sutton.

So proud of this first kid @kellysdobson- he put in hard work all summer and it paid off with the win last weekend! @madisonwood99 had a college career high finish but I know there’s more to come! @tototown who had a top 5 finish for a Toyota Tour Cup event! @alecaronson and @willy_d3 met in Connecticut where their colleges squared off! Last but certainly not least, one of our adults took home the trophy for his men’s league! Proud to know these people and can’t wait to see what next week brings!
