“For me, fantasy has always been a means for exploring reality: it explores the fact that your internal life, your dreams and the weird images and the things that come to you are the things that are actually important tools for dealing with real issues.” - Tim Burton 🐜 Ariadne 1898 by John William Waterhouse

One of these days I will be releasing music again and it all won’t seem like some fantasy of mine 👽 for now I practice patience, I practice allowance. When things are out of your control sometimes you just have to breathe... And repeat...A lot. 💫 John Berkey | Space Ship

“You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself. “ - The Wizard of Oz

This year I’ve been delving into Buddhism (mainly some introductory readings from Thich Nhat Hanh) Never before in my life have I found a path towards enlightenment and peace that works and sustains itself. Im blown away actually at how it has transformed my being. I’ve been working through a lot of trauma from my life and have never been able to fully find a moment of peace. I’ve been trying to better my behaviors that are honestly just so base level. There was a time when they protected me and served a purpose but no longer do. A task not easy or fun to do let me tell you 😖 in my life I have done traditional therapy, medication.. The whole kit and caboodle and while I do feel there is a place for that in the process of healing it never fully brought me out of my suffering. This year, I worked with a therapist and tried EMDR for the first time and that dramatically helped shift some big boulders out of the way. Than money had other priorities and so I was left to figure out my healing alone, just me, no outside resources. I was in a lot of heavy pain searching for joy. One day, my beautiful partner Chase got me “Peace is in every step” By Thich Nhat Hanh and ever since I have felt the best I ever have. The hold that trauma and pain can have on our minds and bodies is gigantic. I know the excruciating battle to find that light in the darkness. The beauty for me is that I have learnt we attain all that we need inside of us in order to find true happiness, love and peace. What a concept! In a society that points us in every other direction towards it, with every price tag and every inclination that those things are only attainable once we reach a certain place in our lives be it financially or otherwise; Buddhism if practiced properly is here for us, any of us, available to us right now, no catch, no guilt, no obligation. For that, I am grateful :) 🌸

I spent my afternoon today surrounded by the forest, resting on the ground beside a friend. Totally secluded with not another around except the insects, lizards and animals who came to say hi now and again. Perfect way to say hello to the spring 🍃 Edwin Landseer | Scene from a Midsummer Nights Dream

“We are in the habit of identifying ourselves with our bodies. The idea that we are this body is deeply entrenched in us. But we are not just this body; we are much more than that. The idea that “this body is me and I am this body” is an idea that we must get rid of. If we do not, we will suffer a great deal. We are life; and life is far faster than this body, this concept, this mind... The disintegration of the body is not the end it is only the cessation of a manifestation.” - Thich Nhat Hanh | The Rape of Europe Artwork by Pierre-Jacques Cazes 🕳
