In just a few weeks, the days will be filled with sunshine and the blossoms will start to appear. How's that for a positive post? A photo of cherry blossoms with a backdrop of the Swiss Alps.
The developing City of London skyline.
An evening view of La Grande Arche de la Défense in Paris.
Smothered by rain clouds, good night beautiful sunset.
The summit of Mam Tor in the early blue hour. I was hoping for a nice sunrise and a decent cloud inversion in the valley below, but the sky was just too cloudy and the valley air not humid enough. Still, there was a little bit of colour an hour before official sunrise.
Gustave Eiffel, the French civil engineer who played a major role in projects such as the Garabit Viaduct and the Statue of Liberty, once wrote about this tower that bears his name: "I ought to be jealous of the tower. She is more famous than I am." A trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without seeing the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
A local image to welcome in 2019. Wishing you all a lovely year ahead.
Sunrise through the central arch of the Milton Ferry Bridge in Peterborough. Wishing you all a very happy new year.
When even a Ferrari 488 Spider can't drag your attention away from your phone. Maybe he's more a BMW fan. Just a regular scene outside the Renaissance Hotel at St Pancras, London.
A memorial to the Unknown Soldier at the base of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
A throwback to warmer days. Although this looks an exotic location, it is actually my local beach at the end of April. My daughter was my model for this shot.
A throwback to a trip to Switzerland earlier in the year. This was taken about 45 minutes before official sunrise and the sky was a wonderful magenta colour.
Sunset in Mellieha Bay, Malta. Technically the sunset was behind me, but the sky was much more colourful in the opposite direction.
Wandering through the mist in Sherwood Forest.
Memories of a long hot summer. Sunset at the beach in Croatia.
St Paul's Cathedral in the late afternoon light.
I haven't posted a London picture for a long time. This was taken a few months ago from the Stone Gallery of St Paul's Cathedral during the Summer Lates season. I was surprised by how nice the view was from here - high enough to get a great view across the capital but not so high that everything looks tiny.
A splash of Autumn colour in Montmartre, Paris.
