I led a yoga class tonight focusing on ❤️ opening to these beautiful souls. I have one more class to offer this year 🧘🏽♀️ 🙏🏽 Special thanks to wifey @frankieroseandco for making a special trip from Newcastle just to attend my class 😲
Yoga Teacher Training Graduation 🎓
A year of transformation through exploring our inner world using the psychological lens of yoga. A year of discovering new friendships. A year of unwavering support from mentors and Faculty. A year of self-doubt, courage, anxiety, wisdom, emotion, strength, and accomplishment. I can still remember how overjoyed with excitement I was just a little over a year ago when I was accepted into the course. Fast forward to day 1 of training in early February, I had my broken elbow in a sling, and could not stop crying during the morning yoga practice. Thoughts of quitting overwhelmed me. What i couldn’t possibly know on day 1 is how incredibly therapeutic this course would be for my mental and physical health. Ecstatic to be sharing the transformational gifts of yoga with the world ❤️
Today I ran a yoga class which focused on pascimatana or forward bends. These āsana can facilitate the exhale, bring length to the spine, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Forward folds can look so different, and take place when your torso and legs approach each other. 🤸🏽♀️
Here I’m demonstrating a few variations of uttanasana - legs straight and hands to the floor, and legs bent and hands to the knees or lower back. 🤸🏽♀️
Tonight we explored forward folds from a variety of starting positions - on the back by bringing knees into chest, from kneeling by bringing hips back to heels in child’s pose, upside down in downward dog, asymmetrically in parsva uttanasana, and inverted in viparitakarani.
Thanks for helping me put up the tree boys! Time for a treatie. Santa Paws is delivering a magnificent Christmas pack of treats and toys to the boys from @trick4treats . Today they sampled the beef puffs 😋 🎅🏾 🐾 🎄
