Mila is showing us a yummy spinal flexion sequence on the Pilates Orbit. Feels so good to move the body in this circular motion, finding a lovely range and engaging the core while lengthening the spine. #pilates @pilateshomework

The unknown can be scary. But it is also quite exciting. Change is inevitable, and accepting that is reassuring. Returning to my studio tomorrow after being away for just over 2 months...a different woman, an MFA candidate, so many fresh ideas, many challenges and inspirations. So grateful for it all, particularly the time and space to examine life through a different lens. Looking forward to sharing some of this with all of you. See you on the #reformer . #getcentered#becreative#staystrong#grateful#pilates#ppw 📷@kristinwolford

The heart of self-care, self-love and the nurturing of our own body, mind, and spirit is that we are enabling ourselves to engage and connect in a more profound way with those around us--our friends, our community, and our world. If that is ultimately our goal then we will be successful.
Mat work is an incredible way to challenge yourself while using your own body as resistance. Learn postural skills you can incorporate into your work week and exercises you can do at home to complement your training. Still time left to drop into our 8pm mat class with Mila tonight or Wed night at 8 with Monica. #getcentered#pilates#fundamentals 📷@sarrafleurphoto
Awakening the dancer this week you guys, kicking my legs around, feeling inspired by movement, and finding some yummy range of motion in my spine, because really, Pilates should feel good. #progressive#pilates#getcentered#movement
On that most unfortunate day when you can't make it to Pilates it's nice to know that you can rely on your own body for a reset. The wall squat is a functional movement that we can all do at home or at the office. A great opportunity to get out of your chair and get the blood pumping, it's a full bodied movement that strengthens the lower body while opening up the chest and realigning the head, neck, and shoulders, countering the ever-present forward-head posture. We love to finish with a roll down to release the spine and open up the hamstrings, glutes and hips following the strength work. Try to spend about 30 seconds in the squat and focus on deeply breathing into your back body. The wall offers a great tactile reminder for feeling that posterior breath and assisting with alignment. #getcentered#wallsquats#mondaymotivation#progressivepilates#progress
