👨🏽👨🏻👨🏾👨🏿👨🏼In full support of our Mo-bro’s and Mo-sisters this Movember to raise awareness for men’s Physical AND Mental Health. 💪🧠
Cancer really sucks, we all know that, but you know what else is really scary? Suffering alone in silence because of a completely false, bogus, made-up stigma surrounding mental health.
When we suffer from a physical aliment, pain or disease, we tell others, we may even need to consult a doctor and there is no stigma or shame attached, it just happens. This scenario has or will affect every single one of us at some point in our lives and we accept this as simply the human experience. So why don’t we feel comfortable viewing mental illness or trauma in this exact same manner? Every single one of us will experience health challenges in our lifetime, both mentally and physically. Did you know that your brain processes physical and emotional pain in the same way? They are both of equal importance to your brain. So why are we viewing only one as legitimate for seeking help and support?
Mental illness is very real and it’s killing us to pretend otherwise. Ditch the stigma and start the conversation. If you are currently suffering, don’t isolate, embrace connection and support. We are social creatures, we are made to be in relationship with others.
Isolation furthers symptoms, connection provides relief, strength and healing.
Check out: @movember they have an awesome website with resources for those who may need support but don’t know how to ask and for those who want to help others, but don’t know where to start.

Mental Health is just as important as physical health. ❤️🧠💪🏼
Vancity!! ✊🏼Conscious Voting is Badass! - This is no spectator sport. This is for real, there are lives on the line. Do your research, choose wisely and VOTE!! Complacency has been killing us at an alarming rate. There is much broken in our city that needs immediate action.
In case you aren’t familiar with Vancouver, there are multiple crisis situations that have been grossly neglected in a city with the resources we have, in a country like ours, there simply is no justification. From widespread homelessness, lack of mental health and addictions resources, support and treatment. Our opioid epidemic and rising death toll of our friends, our family members. The embarrassing lack of knowledge around our history with and the importance of recognition and reconciliation with our First Nations Brothers and Sisters. It’s time for change. It’s time we demand better. For you, your family and for those who cannot do so for themselves.
We will never enjoy true freedom while some of us are still in chains. We cannot expect to find real healing, and wholeness, while some of us are still suffering.
It isn’t spiritual mysticism when I say: We are all connected. We just are. I know that I am personally looking for a more inclusive, compassionate, community-minded Vancouver. And one that humbly and openly acknowledges that where we live and freely enjoy, the beauty we call ‘home’ is actually the unceded territory of the Coast Salish People. Where we are in fact, long time guests on this land that doesn’t belong to us... Perhaps it’s time we started acting more gracious about that.
What do you want your Vancouver to be?
Use your voice in your City. GO VOTE! (Advance voting is available until October 17th) Official Day to Vote: October 20th

A note to honour my brother on his birthday: To my big brother Rob, Happy Birthday! Today, you would be 44.
It’s hard to believe you were only 19 here in this photo. Already an entrepreneur, you were always such a grown man.
My hero from my earliest memories and still to this day. I am so blessed to have known you, to know your love, your tenacity, your patience, and your humour.
It’s that never ending patience you had with me, your baby sister, that’s what I remember best about you.
I remember how safe, how invincible, how important you made me feel.
You had a lot of sisters to look out for, five of us to be exact, but somehow you still made me feel like your favourite.
In a big family like ours, it’s easy to feel lost in the shuffle, but you made certain I was seen and heard. I mattered, I had a voice and nobody was allowed to mess with me, unless they fancied to tangle with you.
Not only did you take care of me and protect me, but whatever we were doing, from working on cars, to finishing that big beautiful house that you bought for us, you always let me ‘help’. And I truly believed that, without a doubt, I was an imperative part of the process. Oh, how I must have slowed you down! But, you made me feel that the work couldn’t have been done without me. Thank you for that and so many other empowering, kind and silly moments we shared.
As every person who knows you says, you truly do have a heart of gold. People like you only come around once in a lifetime, no, make that once in a hundred lifetimes! I am forever grateful to God that he blessed my life with yours. We were only given nine short years together in this life, my dear brother, but I am who I am today because of you. I hope and pray that everyday I can make you proud.
I love you more than any written words could ever express and I miss you in every moment, but in the painful space of your absence, I tend a light of eternal gratitude. I am grateful to have known you my beloved, my hero you’ll forever be, my big brother Rob. ❤️
Gratitude. Today I am filled with it. I truly am and it's giving me all the feels. ❤️ I have a crazy, silly, beautiful family that loves me and pulls together no matter what the cost. They lift me up, they keep me grounded, they walk alongside me. I spent this past holiday Monday with my absolute gem of sister. She's my favourite comedian, she's stunningly beautiful and she is living out her calling as an incredibly talented therapist. Thanks for the 📸 @missmvaughn I love you! 😘
As I dwell here in gratitude, I acknowledge that this past year has been an immensely difficult one for my family and for myself, but our Heavenly Father continues to amaze us daily. I can personally attest to His goodness, His faithfulness and His unending, unyielding love and grace. He is a God of miracles, of healing, of restoration and I just want to encourage you now, to take courage, don't lose heart, you are not alone.
None of us are immune to pain and suffering in this life, no not one. Yet I have learned first hand that Jesus Christ Himself can give you His immutable strength and protection to walk through the fire and become refined by its flames and not be burned or destroyed. Because of Him, I AM the fire. Its ablaze within me and nothing in this world can dampen that light. 🔥❤️ My Rock, my Salvation, let it be known that I am forever grateful for who you are Jesus and who you are making me to be. 🙏🏽❤️ -Praise the Lord 🙌🏽
