Sh.t happens folks. This article was written back in 2017, shortly after this was written I failed my DODMERB. Depart of Defense Medical Exam Review Board. I had a Knee Meniscus repair in 2015, and due to that surgery I got disqualified.
Most people I talk to said I should have lied on my Review. And say that I didn’t have the surgery.
Well that’s not me, and due to that honesty I lost the scholarship.
Best decision I ever made, 1 I was honest. And that is the type of person I want to be. 2, due to that decision I have been on a crazy adventure ever since. 3, it makes for a good story. Something, that shows life throws curve balls. You can’t live in the past. You have to keep moving forward. Striving to improve yourself, accept what has happened and live now.
So I know this is a small thing. But I noticed it recently. I actually have chest striations now. The little ridges on my pecs.
Saw them the other day and was super happy. Chest has always been the weakest part of my body. But, I’ve been working on it very frequently doing all sorts of exercises. And the work is paying off. 👌
Not actually doing biceps curls. Just eating the dumbell.
4x10 seated bicep curls
4x10 seated back fly
4x12 incline bench rows
5x8 standing backfly
3x10 bent over Smith Machine row
3x10 reverse grip bent over Smith Machine row
4x10 spider curls
4x10 lat pull down
4x6 single arm cable curl
4x12 cable row.
Couple of interesting factoids about me.
1. I don’t take steroids or testosterone.
2. I’m Single as a Pringle, and have actually never had a girlfriend.
3. I’ve never competed in a show or powerlifting competition.
4. Originally from Arizona, then moved to Houston when I was 3. Have been in Odessa for roughly 10 months.
5. I’m a Rodman who works construction. Kind of like a surveyor I just do more then a normal surveyor.
6. I drive a wicked Toyota Camry, very manly.
7. I don’t eat vegetables. They make me vomit. Only green things I eat are (peas, green beans, cilantro, tomatoes and corn.) some of those may not count as green. 😂
8. I have a size 15 foot. It’s been that big since I was a junior in high school.
9. I don’t tan very easily. 👌
This is by far the best thing I’ve seen all week. Thank you @theliftingllama for sharing this gold.
Don’t let life get you down. Keep on swimming.
P.S. I know it’s crude, but thought it would make some people laugh, and everybody could use a good laugh.
Dis is me with no flex. Just Powder, no bulging muscles, no crazy flex faces.
Not always juicy, 😂. Still, compare this with a year ago and I’d look like a twig.
Now with no flexing or posing. I can still see some abs, and I don’t look completed depleted.
It can take a long time to see progress. Real progress where you look in the mirror and say “damn.” That’s not a bad thing. Good things take time and patience. In the first picture I weigh 190 pounds and was in my senior year of highschool. In the second picture you can see me now. I weigh 210-215 pounds and have changed drastically in maturity and physically.
I guess the reason I’m sayin all of this, is to say “don’t give up.” You might work your ass of for 6 months and quit. But on month 7, the real changes could have happened. You stopped right before all of the good things happened. Keep grinding.
Featuring: my amazing facial expressions as I flex. I realize the second pose isn’t really a pose. But my triceps have got gargantuan. So 👌
On a side note I have something that will be happening later on in June. I don’t want to say what it is yet, until I get more details. But if it actually goes through, could be an amazing experience and opportunity. Keep ya posted. 👍
Adjusting my workouts so I can still get yoked at Planet Fitness.
Doing more bodybuilding style lifting with more hypertrophy (lots of reps + sets) nothing below 4x10.
Not as much Crossfit this month due to there being no barbells. Still it’s better then no gym.
