✨Darlings & lovelies... it’s that time of the week:
Did you know that International Sex Workers Day is observed annually on June 2nd?
June 2nd commemorates the day that hundreds of sex workers worked to expose the inhumane conditions that they were/are vulnerable to. On that day workers occupied the Saint-Nizier church, went on strike, and demanded decent working conditions and an end to unjust stigmas. Their brave efforts on that day in 1975 marked the beginning of this movement, a movement that still needs much support in order to combat existing oppression.
Do you guys want to know how to summon a vesta? It’s pretty simple. First you draw a circle using swamp moss and black glitter. In the middle you place some oyster shells, Rose clippings, and your oldest copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Sprinkle the whole thing with whiskey and rainwater, and pretty soon this hot, gothy, woman with a fearsome brain will appear before you. The lovely @vesta.vaingloria 🖤

When we make love we offer ourselves to the possibility of disappearing. We disappear as the dawn that vanishes inside itself. The way wave and sand fade on the rim of each others lips to abandon themselves in dancing. — Ekiwah Adler-Belendez
✨Dearest darlings, we hope our marriage of arts at Hitchcock 🖤 and Ziggy Stardust ⚡️ left you yearning for more. We desire your presence at our forthcoming shows but for now... it’s that time of week: #sexworkeradvocacy
Did you know that police and prosecutors can use condoms as evidence that people are engaging in crimes of prostitution?
This discriminatory practice does not allow for sex workers to their jobs safely. It puts sex workers and their health at risk. Luckily, The Red Umbrella Project, or #redup , has been working to oppose the use of condoms as evidence. They’ve “co-organized lobby days in Albany, mailed a thousand postcards to state legislators, met with elected officials, who passed Senate Bill S1379 in the State Assembly in 2013, and met with Mayor Bill DeBlasio’s staff.” If supporting sex workers is something you’re interested in, take a look at the work that RedUp does.
Growing up, Amis was prone to hallucinating visions that commanded her to step outside of her body, and she did so by becoming a poet. When she was fifteen, Amis left the mountains and entered the city, a sprawling cage of grey bruises and sensations she did not know how to voice. 💜
Bodies have been learning each other forever. It’s what bodies do. They are grab bags of parts and half the fun is figuring out all the different ways we can fit them together; all the different uses for hipbones and hands, tongues and teeth; all the different ways to car-crash our bodies beautiful. — Gabe Moses🌹📷: Eivind Hansen

With fantasies and indulgence comes harsh, raw reality: it’s time to get real.
Did you know that there are four main legal approaches applied to sex work throughout the world?
Full criminalization, partial criminalization, End Demand, and Legalization. All of these put sex workers at risk- yes, even legalization.
Where legalized, sex work is made incredibly complicated and exclusive to certain places and people making it hard for minority groups to work efficiently.
Juno Mac’s Ted Talk reveals what some sex workers want and need. She dives into specifics and is able to shed the light on a lot of facts that were previously shadowed. Check out her talk on YouTube if you’d like to learn more.
