Happy National Cat Day!🐈 Adopt don’t shop & foster when you’re capable!
It feels a little silly when I begin writing this down, but I’m so thankful to have these angels alongside on this journey through life. Since we started fostering them almost a year and a half ago, I’ve gone through a large mental shift and they’ve been here through it.
Before and during the first several months of owning them, I still held their life (and my own) to a higher regard than the other animals in my life, and hadn’t yet questioned my relationship with the victims of animal agriculture. Today, I see them more as equals because I truly believe that all life has value, and my actions are aligned with my morals.
After our fostering period came to a close, I cried on and off for two days before we realized they had to be ours and raced back to the SPCA——thankfully they were still there waiting for us to adopt them. They really helped turn our apartment into a home, and I can’t picture life without the relationships I have with the two of them. Miru & Cookie♥️♥️
Striving to make a return to posting here about the things I’m most passionate about! I put off making posts most days because I allow myself to feel overwhelmed with the number of topics I have an urge to speak on, so instead choose none.
I used to walk these trails 2-3 times a week as a kid because I lived right across the street. I had recently been feeling a strong urge to return to these familiar trails, as well as this off trail spot in particular. The therapeutic nature of getting outside and communing with nature too often falls to the wayside. There is always time to reconnect with what really matters ✌️💚
