Thanks, Sam, for taking us on a ride on our last day to explore the other parts of Nova Scotia. We enjoyed your company and the sharing of stories along the way, while enjoying the beautiful landscape. If you are ever in Halifax, Alternative Routes is a great way to travel around Nova Scotia if you don’t have other means of transportation.
When you to come Wasabi House, make sure you come here HUNGRY. While our airbnb host had warned us prior to coming here, we thought we could handle it. We thought 4 rolls and a chicken karaage between the two of us would be good enough in consideration of what the host told us, but as you can see, some of these rolls are massive! The sushi in the middle is probably the size of my palm (not kidding in any way). And just when we thought we were almost done, our waitress brought over another plate with an additional roll, nigiris and sashimi which were complementary from the chef. 😆 We pretty much had to drag ourselves back home after that meal - but hey, I won’t complain about free food.
I have been noodle deprived since my friend hates noodles 🤭😧, so when we went for japanese food at @takesushipei, they also served a small selection of Korean food. I decided to opt for their jjamppong which was pretty good (could have been spicier though).
Lobster roll made in two ways. Half with cold lobster, mayo, celery, herbs, and drizzled with lemon butter. The other half with warmed lobster in butter, lemon, and garlic and topped both of it all with chopped chives.
Ever wondered what they serve on the train? With sleeper class, all meals are included with your @viarailcanada ticket. Here’s a sample of what you would get for your breakfast, lunch and dinner (photos are not in that order).
