Plumbing and light fixtures showed up this week and our new switches and outlets showed up today. I’m very excited to see how it’s all coming together! Now if only I could wave a wand and have all the drywall and tile done. I’ll work on that.
We’re focusing our remodeling efforts on our bathrooms right now. It’s currently in sad shape. To add plumbing for the new bath and redirect plumbing for the new layout we’ve had to tear up the two existing bathrooms. So we have three baths but one working shower and toilet downstairs and a working sink upstairs and big holes in the walls and ceilings between them. Who needs privacy anyway? It’s currently like camping indoors until we finish one or the other.
Loving the simplicity of this design. What do you think?
Looking back at the first project we did with @stjohnprop @thevalleygrove in Pleasant Grove Utah.
Small space but turned out great. If you’re looking for office space in Utah county check them out.

Ok everyone, I need your help. We’re trying to bring this house into this century. We’re looking into smart home accessories as well as new tech gadgets for the home. So far we are leaning towards the @google home mini for bedrooms and google home for main living space. We’re going with the nest for thermostats and I’m loving these new switches and outlets from @legrandna. What’s you favorite smart home gadget? Tag other accessories we should be looking at. What do you wish you had or what can you no longer love without?
If there’s one thing I like more than designing it’s seeing it all come together. After months of designing, months of permitting, it’s time to start seeing things come to life. Remodels are especially tough. It takes a lot of patience on everyone’s part to wade through the whole process. If your marriage can make it through all the decisions, stress, and financial turbulence of a remodel project you’ve got it made. This California project included looking at the full home from the interior to the exterior and will be broken into a few phases to accomplish the final results. Here in the great room the fireplace is taking shape. To the left will be two large glass stacking doors that will open up the wall to the outdoor pool area. Behind us is a totally redesigned kitchen and mud room (also in progress). The floors are going to be a polished concrete and that black hole in the ceiling is where the TV will drop from the ceiling. Pretty cool huh?
I’m in love with this textured wall and I’m wanting to do something similar in my remodel. This is a tile and I’ve seen other options done using a wood panel. But they are $$$$. Any suggestions on a low cost alternative?
Busy day. 5k with the girls 🏃♀️ , followed by robotics 🤖 competition for my son, followed by framing some walls🔨 and finishing off the new beam we put in last night. I need a weekend from my weekend! Also I got my new batch of business cards in the mail yesterday. I love how they turned out!
I totally scored at the Ogden ReStore yesterday! 13 boxes of brand new white and grey tile and this cute little table and chairs for grand total of $200. Yesterday was a good day! Today… blood… lots and lots of blood. Check out my IG story for more.
Modern design is all about the details. I’m contemplating all the ways I can incorporate a clean reveal at the wall base, doors, windows, and stairs. It’s not as easy as throwing up trim that covers up construction errors but I think the result is worth it. What do you think?
