A full day late on the #ooakdiarieschallenge 😅 but last night was #latenight here at the @ooak_toronto show!
I entered the 13 hour show day sitting in bad traffic, and feeling the (self inflicted) mom guilt, wife guilt, and even work guilt, that I haven’t been there for all of them in a little while. But I said a prayer, drank some coffee, and made my way into my booth with 10 minutes to spare so I could gather my thoughts a little bit.
Not all days start off well (or even end well) but yesterday I was blessed with things to keep me going and my spirits up! #countyourblessings
I am thankful for:
+ short but sweet time I get to have with my kiddo in the morning
+ the husband who tells me not to feel guilty and cooks my meals to bring to the show :)
+ family who is helping with things at home
+ friends who drop by and bring me sustenance in forms of hugs and my favourite snacks
+ my mentor who snapped this photo for me, brought me a home cooked healthy meal, and also managed to squeeze in a little life talk
+ my booth neighbours in Aisle T!
+ Last but not least, everyone who came by yesterday, up until the show closed at 11 :)
Everyone always asks if I’m tired while at the show, and my answer is, yes always. 😴 But it is worth every minute. As a maker, it’s a joy to share my art, and it is double the joy when others are able to be blessed by it as well.
So thank you to all those who came by yesterday to support #handmade , because your energy and enthusiasm turned my day around for the better! ☀️
One of my favourite things about the @ooak_toronto show is getting to know the vendors: their stories + inspiration behind the products. I was so fortunate last year, at my first holiday show, to have a chance to meet a lot of great people who offered me kind words, honest feedback, and sage advice.
This year, I want to give a shoutout to @lilykaodesign, who up until the show, was only someone I knew on Instagram. So inspired by her illustrations + art, her dedication, her authenticity. Thanks for being so sweet Lily!
Julie over at @majestyindustries has been super as well! We did a pin trade (my campervan for her Harry Potter pin!) and I appreciated her willingness to help another fellow vendor without any hesitation. Thank you for being open and sharing your wisdom with me Julie!
