Founding NKUHT President Fu-teng Li was recently awarded the Taiwan F&B Chef Association’s first Outstanding F&B Education Award. Dr. Li has been involved in hospitality and culinary education for over 57 years.  Many of the traditions that Dr. Li established at NKUHT in 1995 are still passed on and expanded upon today, helping our graduates to become sincere, diligent, and elite hospitality professionals.

The host of the forum is Jing-wen Li, the General Manager of Silks Place Tainan.  Different sessions will be presented about the application of smart technology in hotels and F&B. The Department of Western Culinary Arts was very excited to host a speech and teaching demo by world-famous chef Willment Leong, the founding chairman of the Thailand Culinary Academy and a board member of the World Chefs without Border.  Chef Leong gave an excellent speech about how to prepare for culinary competitions. 【校園活動】

本校西餐廚藝系今日特別邀請世界知名的梁世安主廚Chef Willment Leong,以「如何準備廚藝競賽」為主題進行演講及廚藝示範教學。梁世安主廚為現任亞太廚師協會委員會─無國界世界廚師主席,及泰國廚藝學院創會主席,擁有極為豐富的國際裁判經驗以及廚藝技術。

NKUHT's Graduate Institute for Tourism Management invited Assistant General Manager Wang Yong-hao to present a speech on 'Theme Park Industry Analysis and Operations Management' today.  Assistant G.M. Wang has abundant industry experience and spoke about the planning and development that went into transforming Lihpao Park into a resort area.  Graduate students from China, the Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan were thrilled to be able to interact with and learn a lot from Assistant G.M. Wang. 【校園活動】

[International Student Activity]
The 2nd Kaohsiung International Student Alliance Welcoming Activity was held on 10/14, welcoming over 300 students from 34 countries. Many NKUHT students attended and learned about Taiwan's history, food, culture, etc.  It was a great chance for the students to become more acquainted with the beauty and wonder of Taiwan.  In addition, the NKUHT team was awarded the best group performance award at the school performances. 【國際生活動】 「第2屆大高雄國際學生聯合大迎新」於10/14舉辦,歡迎來自全世界的學子來到高雄展開學習旅程!現場有來自34國共300多位國際新生參加,包含本校國際學生!從歷史、飲食、文化、移民等面向,讓國際新生認識高雄、愛上高雄。🤸‍♂️🤾‍♀️ 而本校國際新生也在活動中表現出熱情好客、團隊精神,獲得了最佳團體表演獎!✨

Chef Lai Gu-xian and teacher Zhao Wei-ting of the Department of Food and Beverage Management led a group of students in joining the 2018 Penang International Culinary Arts Competition where they were awarded 4 Gold, 9 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals as well as 4 awards for excellence. 【👏普天同慶👏】 本校餐飲管理系賴顧賢教授及趙偉廷老師日前指導系上學生參加「2018馬來西亞檳城國際廚藝大賽」勇奪4金9銀9銅4佳作!

Students from the Department of F&B Management joined the Battle of the Chefs 2018 in Penang, Malaysia from 10/5-10/7. They came home with 4 Gold, 9 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals, as well as 4 medals for excellent performance. [Celebrating the new school year]
The 2018 Confucian-Style Opening Ceremony was held yesterday to formally welcome all the freshmen to NKUHT and celebrate the new school year.  NKUHT especially invited Wen-Chung Pan, current National Policy Advisor to the President and former Minister of Education to attend this special event. In addition, Deson Xue, Chief Executive Officer of Yonshin and Fu-Teng Li, founding NKUHT president were in attendance.  President Pearl Lin warmly welcomed all matriculating students and wished them a happy and fruitful next four years at NKUHT. 【開學快樂🎶】 昨日在多功能活動中心舉行「2018開學暨拜師感恩典禮」,本校特別邀請到總統府潘文忠國策顧問擔任讚禮官、永心鳳茶薛舜迪執行長擔任貴賓代表,以及本校李福登創校校長與多位貴賓蒞臨盛會,現場儀式隆重、氣氛溫馨。

林玥秀校長特別在這個時刻,期許加入高餐大的新生們,未來的1000多個日子,每一天都精彩無比、閃閃發亮!✨

[School Activity]
In order to foster department spirit and a sense of belonging among freshmen at NKUHT, in the 22 years since NKUHT’s establishment, the new academic year begins with a School Song and Department Cheer Competition.  Each department’s returning students will pass on this tradition and help the freshmen prepare to show off their department’s special character.

Starting at the beginning of the semester in early September, day and night, all corners of the campus and in between were filled with the sounds of students working hard to get ready.  After a concentrated three week effort, the competition was held on 9/27.

Through this competition, the students have learned teamwork and become much closer with each other, providing lasting memories for them to carry through through the next four years at NKUHT and beyond.

The General Education Center at NKUHT held two academic conferences from 9/28-9/29. The 2nd Cross-Strait Conference on Hospitality General Education was held to promote scholarly exchange among leading cross-strait scholars to further knowledge of theory and practice and strengthen the value of Hospitality General Education.  The 15th Conference on Chinese Tea Culture Conference was held to discuss the latest research and developments in Chinese Tea Culture. 【學術活動】

本校通識教育中心於9月28、29日舉辦兩場通識教育研討會,第一場為「2018第二屆兩岸餐旅通識教育研討會」🕵️‍♀️,讓兩岸三地的餐旅通識教育學者先進們藉此盛會交流學識、教育理念與經驗,深化餐旅通識教育之價值。第二場則為「第15屆中華茶文化研討會」🍵,聚焦討論中華茶文化最前沿研究成果與該領域最新發展,實屬中華茶文化產官學界一大盛事!
[Academic Activity] The General Education Center at NKUHT held two academic conferences from 9/28-9/29. The 2nd Cross-Strait Conference on Hospitality General Education was held to promote scholarly exchange among leading cross-strait scholars to further knowledge of theory and practice and strengthen the value of Hospitality General Education.
