Everyday I make small choices that help me become a healthier person.
I started my postpartum journey off at 200 pounds, weak, tired, and honestly discouraged. Discouraged because I felt like I had so far to go. The mountain seemed impossible to climb.
But I started by taking small steps. A short workout when Lincoln napped. Drinking more water than coffee 😂😜 Swapping out an order of fries for veggies. Fueling my body with a superfood shake.
The thing I realized is that things won’t change overnight but you are changing every single day. Either you are changing to become healthier or you’re changing the other way. I wanted to make sure I was changing for the better.

Life has been so C R A Z Y this past week! It would’ve been so easy for me to let my workouts slip or go through the drive thru for dinner instead of cooking 🙈
But honestly, the girls in my virtual gym kept me grounded. They all are having crazy weeks too but yet they are showing up for themselves and their family.
I’ve tried to get fit my entire life but nothing else stuck. It wasn’t just because I didn’t know what to do but it mainly was because I was doing it alone. There was no one to hold me accountable so when I wanted that late night emotional ice cream- I just ate it. 🤷🏼♀️ I now run monthly virtual groups where I help women take their next steps on their fitness journeys! I will teach you everything I did to lose 45 pounds, give you the exact same workouts & meal plans but I also will be there for you. I’m your friend in this journey 💕 when you join my group, we’re doing this dang thing together! Every step along the way 🐾

Lacing up my shoes & drinking my preworkout ✌🏻 I’m in a place in my journey where I feel as though it should be further and I should be losing weight/inches faster. I’ve been getting upset at myself and my results because I want to be further in my progress.
But I know that’s truly not where I want my heart. Honestly, I want my heart to be focused on Jesus and what He has for me today- not focused on how I haven’t lost the last 20 pounds yet. I don’t want to be so focused on the scale or the inches that I’m missing what’s happening right in front of me.
Everyday that I show up and do my workout, eat my planned meals, and drink my water, I am practicing self control and discipline. Everyday that I do that, God is refining skills in me that will spill over to ever area of my life. Everyday that I do that, I am taking care of the body that I was given.
So listen sister, yes weightloss is fun & it will happen if you continue to do the behaviors that will get you there but there’s so much more at play. God is doing so much more in my heart and my life, than weight loss.
Yes, show up and do the work. But don’t only do the work because you want the scale to move. Do the work because you’re gaining SO much more.
Making sure to start off our morning with intentional play time together. It’s so easy for me to jump right to cleaning the kitchen or doing other chores that takes attention away from him.
He’s not a distraction from the important work- he is the most important work ❤️ Feeling all the feels today as I’m literally watching him grow and change right before my eyes. Forever will be grateful for this coaching opportunity that has made it possible for me to be at home with him most days.
I’m totally digging this new program. Throw some weights around, empty my muscles with some quick hiit moves, then finish with core 👌🏻 simple, fast but oh so effective.
We’re half way done week 4 and the results so far have been incredible. Loving that I can get killer results from my living room!
Someone shared a post this weekend about how as she was reflecting back on the past when her baby was younger and she didn’t miss those days. She wasn’t saying that they weren’t good but instead she embraced and enjoyed every minute as her babe was growing so as she grew older she was able to embrace each new stage with joy in knowing she fully enjoyed the past.
I wish I could say the same for myself. Most of Lincoln’s life I would say yes, I enjoyed every second but there were definitely times I was too consumed with how insecure I felt that I wasn’t able to be fully present in the moment with him. I was insecure mainly about my weight and body but then those insecurities made me feel like a bad mom and a bad wife.
While I have lost 45 pounds and counting, the pounds lost isn’t what changed my heart. There’s something powerful that happens when we start to take care of our bodies... With each decision that I made to take care of my body, my respect, self love, and honor for myself grew. As I watched the scale go down and my body lose inches I realized that I was becoming stronger in my determination and self control. & then in that, that helped me become more confident in who I was as a person, wife, and mother. Then when that happened, I was no longer fixated on myself and insecurities. Instead I was able to be fully present, serving the people that God called me to love.
My hope is for NO mama to ever be so consumed with her insecurities that she isn’t able to enjoy the moment with her children or spouse.
