When was the last time you did something that scared you? A year ago, I went skydiving with my friend @22ness. As the risk-taker that I am, this was just another exhilarating experience I wanted to try.
Most of the time, #fear is in our mind as we think about different ways that something could go terribly wrong. I’m a pretty private person and shy but I knew that being vulnerable by making YouTube videos and sharing certain parts of myself on social media would help me grow on my journey and could help others. Sometimes in order to grow, we need to get out of our comfort zone and jump. #tbt#growth
I used to seek love through relationships because I didn't truly love myself. The energy of love was blocked by the barriers I constructed around my heart space so that I wouldn't get hurt. This not only prevented me from showing love to others and others being able to love me, but it stopped me from loving myself. Over the past few years, I've been working on believing that I'm worthy of being loved by changing the story line I've repeated to myself and believed for almost my whole life. "Life's unfair. There's no such thing as love." The narrative has changed and I'm worthy of love and I attract an abundance of love, the same love I give to myself.
So this message is for anyone out there who feels that they are alone and feels undeserving of love. This is for anyone who punishes himself/herself with negative repetitive thoughts and being in unfit relationships. You deserve love. It's always been within you. 💗💗💗
It’s not the current situation that’s a problem because it is what it is. The problem is that we trust our thoughts about the circumstance. We often believe that what we think is the truth and most of the time it isn’t. We may think that we don’t deserve love or that we could never get in shape. 💗We repeat these thoughts until they become true to us and these thoughts often lead to depression and anxiety. Inquire about your thoughts before accepting them.
From 2012-2014 I taught high school English in Mozambique when I served in the #peacecorps . It was one of the most difficult experiences I had to go through. I was far from home, my access to clean water was limited, a couple of my Mozambican friends passed away while I was there, and going to get food at the farmers market often took half a day. Not to mention, I earned less than $300 per month, similar to the teachers in my community. .
But the reward I received while being there was invaluable. I learned to survive, to be patient, and to laugh through the difficult times. It’s been 4 years since I lived in this beautiful country and I would love to go back again some day to see my friends and students. I’ll never forget you #Mozambique . Estara sempre no meu coracao. 💗💗💗#tbt#grateful
When the kidneys are weak, they aren't effectively removing the waste, toxins, acid, and mucus from the lymphatic system. When the waste is stagnate in the system and not being eliminated, it's like never fixing the toilet that's backed up and this can create odors and an environment for parasites to thrive, essentially making the problem worse.
It's pivotal to see if the kidneys are filtering. The best way to get the lymphatic system moving is by removing acidic foods from the diet and consuming a high #alkaline fruit and vegetable diet. When I went on my watermelon juice fast, I saw that my kidneys started filtering again.🍉 This showed me that my body responds positively to alkaline foods. Another way to eliminate waste from the lymphatic system is through the skin, so we want to make sure we're able to sweat out toxins and waste.
This has been an enlightening year for me. I’ve been repeating the same patterns that stemmed from childhood conditioning and never learned from them. I’m truly understanding that I still need to work on loving myself. And this fall season is reminding me to let go of what no longer serves me. I’m grateful. 🍂🍁🍃#fallfavorites#persimmon#autumnleaves#fauxleatherboots
I can't think of a better way to start off my morning than with some deep breaths, stretches and meditation. When I practice yoga right after I wake up, I'm more peaceful and have more clarity than on mornings I don't practice it. Further, I find myself being less irritated and able to deal with intense life situations better. 🙇🏾 Also, ever since I started practicing yoga consistently about a year and a half ago, I've experienced less knee, neck and back pain and it feels like all my joints are oiled up like the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. Goodbye, stiffness!
This is a reminder that yoga can be a great practice to incorporate into your daily health and wellness routine. 💗💗💗 .

This past weekend, I went on a #roadtrip with my friend to the Eastern Sierra. We went hiking on a private trail that we thought was a different trail. Whoops! So I don't know where we hiked but it was so gorgeous. The last picture is an picture of a mountain at Convict Lake.
