Love the yusheng at Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House. Love the crispy white bait, fish skin, pomelo, candied walnuts tossed with a light yuzu dressing and scallion oil. I just with it came with hamachi instead of smoked salmon.
Comfort in a bowl. Beef noodles, loads of dried shrimp roe. It can only be homemade.
Pescatarian for one meal
So, one of the things on my bucket list is to go explore South America, and for good measure, Mexico too. The food is so much like ours but so different too. And after lunch at Ola Cocina Del Mar, by chef Virgilio Martinez of Central in Peru, I’ve really gotta go.
Thank you Mom

So lucky to have had @alysiareynechan’s pig trotter stuffed with pork, sage and pistachio. I don’t know how she liberated skin from trotter without cutting through it. So much work went into this. The skin braised for 3 hours, then stuffed then cooked low and slow, the stock reduced to this glossy sauce...I am so lucky. All that and chicken hearts and obligatory fiber too. AND a skillet cookie for dessert but I have no usable photos. Someone do something about the lighting in that restaurant. Please!
The yusheng from Peony Jade is jaw droppingly epic...

Snack time. When stumped for a Christmas present, gimme panettone.
Something was missing from our NYE dinner. Can you guess what?
I marked the end of 2018 with friends over dinner. We are SO sedate these days...
My Top 9 for 2018. I look back in wonder, it has been one heck of a year. Thank you everyone, for your support. I promise we’re gonna eat so well in 2019!
