12 years. We only have 12 years to avoid a huge climate change catastrophe according to a UN report that was shared on all major news avenues this past week.
If nothing changes, then extreme drought, floods, wildfires, and food shortages for millions of people will be typical. This should be alarming for all of us.
I have not always considered myself an eco conscious individual. It took me becoming a mother and clearing my home and mind of all the noise to focus on this issue. I am worried for our children. I am worried what kind of world they will grow up knowing. One with horrific natural disasters left and right? I hope not. I am choosing to change my habits and sharing them here to hopefully help others do the same. What are you doing to be kinder to the planet? Let’s hear some positivity ❤️🌎🌱
Me probably thinking “I hope that’s not another storm cloud coming in” (stir crazy kids over here 😂).
But for real just wanted to share a #thrifted#ootd
Buying second hand first is an easy way to be more #ecofriendly as #fastfashion is one of the worst polluters in the world (oil is the first). ____
The sweater vest I got from @thredup which is an awesome company that sells your “like new” clothing as if it were brand new. The pants I got from @crossroadstrading #crossroadsfinds
The necklace I got #secondhand from my mom. Anyone else trade clothing/accessories with family or friends? 🙋🏻♀️ #secondhandfirst
Right here is an example of how to reduce clutter and help the environment at the same time. #ecofriendly
The boots on the left are from last year. I am listing them for sale on @mercari . I will send them to the buyer and they will use these rain boots instead of buying new ones (which uses up unnecessary resources).
The boots on the right I purchased #secondhand for this rain season. My boy could care less that another child loved them before him. They cost me a fraction of the price of new ones. Both are the same brand and both are part of a #circulareconomy
The old me would keep the old ones “just in case.” Nope. Not any more. I’d rather see another child get use out of them and not clutter my space ❤️♻️🌱🌎 #zerowaste
Reading a paragraph at a time next to my daughter working on this puzzle... no better way to spend a rainy afternoon (brother is rough housing in the next room😂 #boyswillbeboys )
Putting toys away is something that we have worked on since a young age. My 4 year old knows to put toys away and my almost two year old understands what it means as well. They need help doing it often, but that’s ok with me... it takes only a few minutes ✨
I find it is easier for everyone to think and “work” in a calm space. #playislearning#lessismore#montessoriathome
Pumpkins make the cutest decor. Not to mention they are compostable ♻️🌎❤️. My almost two year old likes to push them around in her babydoll’s stroller ❤️. Seeing them makes me happy 🌱😊🎃 #thelittlethings#happyfallyall
