Working toward one of my #mmmay18 goals: sew up some new things. This is another super comfy Rie tunic out of cotton/spandex from @megannielsenpatterns I eliminated some of gathering so that it (hopefully) looks less like a maternity top. I also lengthened the top and the sleeves.
Keeping it real in my maternity/breastfeeding-friendly Rie top. Thank you @megannielsenpatterns
for creating versatile patterns. I didn't get a chance to sew this up until after the little guy was born.
I, Mindy Kingery, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '18. I endeavour to wear all of my hand sewn/altered/improved garments weekly and to incorporate a knitted accessory on weather-appropriate days (socks don't count as my knitted item!) for the duration of May 2018. In addition, I will sew 2-3 of my planned projects, incorporating them into my weekly challenge as completed.
As I've only recently gotten back into sewing for me, I only have three sewn items and I already wear them weekly. So the challenge for me is 1) to make a few more items for which I already have the materials, 2) HEM THOSE JEANS ALREADY, and 3) start wearing my knitted accessories again (having a baby strapped to me most hours of the day has made this difficult and now the weather is warming up so I may have to get creative with this). I'm hoping this challenge will motivate me to find pockets of time to sew for me. I'm also hoping to start loving on my hand knits again as well. Lastly, I'm hoping that by wearing all these lovely me-made items, I will finally begin knitting a pullover to wear next fall (regardless of whether or not I'm losing the baby weight). #mmmay18#handmadewardrobe#centraloregonsews#centraloregonknits#knittersofinstagram
