Ok all you artists out there. I just want you to do something for a second. Take your right hand, bring it up over your head and around to your back. Now give yourself a pat on the back. As artists, we can be own worst critics. I have seen a major shift in my artistic confidence over the past few years and it has made such a difference in everything that I do. In a world of curated feeds (and, HELLO, pretty much a curated life in general), some can lose that confidence if something is less than perfect in the conditions or technicality of the art they are producing. STOP IT WITH THIS NOW. Life is not always perfect. The weather is not always perfect. The light is not always perfect. Your focusing may not always be perfect. WHAT YOU NEED TO START DOING is being PROUD of the work you are creating. You rocked that dark church at 10,000 ISO because you were restricted from using flash. You still captured portraits beautifully even though it was a monsoon outside. Give that art love. Share it. Be proud of it. I know I am not done growing in my artistic capabilities, but I know the work I have produced in the situations I am producing it in is badass. It makes others happy. It makes me happy. So do yourself a favor and start loving what you are creating. When you have that confidence in what you create, it becomes the fuel you need to keep growing as an artist. Seriously, be proud of it. Be SO proud.
When it’s almost 100 degrees out on your wedding day, this family heirloom is more than a lot of pretty. I absolutely LOVE when my couple's have gorgeous family pieces incorporated into their wedding day.
I often shoot in darker environments where film can be a less than ideal option. Noble presets has been a life saver for me in these situations, as I know I can create images that are cohesive with my film work. Here is an example of Porta 400 pushed one stop processed at @thefindlab and Noble with a few VERY quick tweaks to the white balance and tone sliders. My full review on the #noblepresets can be found via a link in my bio!
Tented bridal party pictures because of the rain are only as good as the people in them. And these are some realllll good people here. @cweventsfirm @makemefabny @saratoganationalevents @renaissancefloraldesign @angelasbridal
We have a bunch of photos hanging in our living room of when Max was a baby. He constantly points to it and says it's Madison. I get it! It is hard to believe that we were all that tiny at one point and that our parents have gone through the same heartbreaking happiness of watching their children grow into adults. The one thing I pray no parent regrets is the amount of time they spent cuddling, adoring and loving their babies... regardless of how old or willing of a participant their child may be.
You guys, I am coming to the end of the Bosch series audiobooks 😭 I listen to them when I do my workouts, driving to and from shoots and when I edit. Is anyone else familiar with these books? Any recommendations for crime/detective style books to read/listen to after?
This morning, I was finally able to open up every window in our home! I felt like the humidity has been crazy the past week and it feels so good to get some fresh air inside. It makes me as happy as this peachy color palette for a Summer wedding. @thethayerhotel @weddingsbydebra_ @kleinfeldbridal @beautini @bhldn @asos #fineartcuration
