Today is the day friends. It's the longest day of the year! The sun is out super late, the sky is bright, people are PUMPED. So what better way to celebrate by dropping a photo that looks like it's straight out of the depths of hell! Cuz you know.. going against the grain is what it's all about. .
.
If you've never been to Stockholm, then you may not know how epicly awesomesauce their metro stations are. .
.
This one is probably my favorite, but there are so many dope surprises when you hop off at your stop. .
.
Ever marveled at the metro stations of Stockholm? Or anywhere else for that matter?

Alright we need to have a chat about this whole Summer Solstice thing that's about to go down tomorrow. I know it happens every year, but this year is the first time I've been that far north this close to the whole "longest day of the year" thing that everyone has been raving about. .
.
And having now experienced it, I'll admit... I totally get it. This is flippin CRAZY man!!
.
.
This photo was taken at 11:15PM. Like what?? And it then proceeded to never get fully dark. Huge fan of this. Huge. .
.
PS: Yes. My leading lines are wack. Get off my back, Jack.

Sometimes you head to the Nordics on a super big work trip and you've got exactly 2 hours between client meetings and client dinners, but you're there during the summer solstace so you've still got time to grab your camera and book it to find some Viking epicsauce.
.
.
Last week was one of those times. .
.
PS: lots of you seem to like the 'Tap To Edit' before and after thing on the IG stories, so I think I'll keep doing that. That cool with y'all? K cool. Good talk.

Sometimes you're able to escape the crowds and enjoy the blustering wind blowing across the caldera as the sun sets off in the distance. So yeah, we did just that. It was some magical shit that we are sure to never forget. .
.
Have you ever successfully escaped the crowds to experience some magic?

Last night we got some terrible news of the passing of my wife's dear friend Jimmy. In the limited number of times I was lucky enough to hang out with him, I was instantly drawn to his quick wit, his caring nature, and just general incredible people to be around. Things like this make it hard to get through the day and it pains me to not be able to be close to our friends back home and be there with them through all of this. .
.
This photo seems very out of place when paired with these words. But somehow looking back on the moment that it captured reminds me that there is still beauty in the every day... Of walking through the park at sunset. That life will someday start to make sense again. Until then, thank you, Jimmy, for everything you did to help my wife become the woman she is today. I'm so sorry I never got to tell you before I was no longer able.

One thing I will always make time for is a sunset at the beach. Add in some long exposure and you've got yourself a perfect combination for a happy Kyle. Snapped with one with the help of a variable ND filter, which is one of my top accessories you've gotta have for your camera. Check out full list on the YouTube channel (link in bio).

I get a lot of people thinking I'm that classic 'instagram husband' meme. You know, where she makes me sit there and take 500 photos of her in different outfits until she gets the perfect shot and then she can 'hashtag ad' her favorite new top that she just loves from Revolve... Like oh em gee!
.
.
The truth is. I totally make Hayli get in photos against her will. I get about 5-7 seconds before she is ready to continue exploring some back alleys. .
.
I like taking photos. I like my wife. I like taking photos of my wife.
.
.
Okay so that's my rant. Tune in tomorrow for your regularly scheduled sunset photo.

High upon the cliffs of Santorini, at the tip of a small peninsula known as Skaros Rock sits a single church. This church is now the only building on Skaros, which was once the central hub of Santorini before it was destroyed by the massive earthquake in 1956 that demolished over 500 homes on the small island. .
.
If you're in Santorini, it is well worth the trek down to the bottom, as this was the only place we had fully to ourselves. Just promise me you won't tell anyone else about it...
.
.
For the record: If I got any part of that story wrong, I blame the tour guide we eavesdropped on.

Exploring the back alleys of the Greek islands will pretty much always lead you to a great find. This was our first Tripp really getting a handle on the new 24-105 from Sony and I personally loved how versitile this bad boy was. From capturing the landscapes to sniping Hayli checking out this supah dope tree from down the alley, this thing was probably the only lens we really needed.

Such a pleasure I have getting to explore this magical world with this lovely lady right here. As is tradition with Sundays, a new video is live over on YouTube! This time let you in on how our wedding day went. Spoiler alert: there was lots of blood and a pretty epic practical joke. .

Every time I fly my drone I'm pretty sure I squeal like a little girl. It's so friggin unbelievable to me that we have this technology so easily accessible now. After a delicious dinner on the small and quiet island of Paros, I took the Mavic up for a quick flight above the beach and harbor just to see what I could see. And a nice little stretch of awesomeness was iluminated by the setting sun. .
.
The fact that we are able to see the world in a way that typically was reserved for the seagulls... Good lawd. What a time to be alive! .
.
Any other drone pilots out there feel the same?

Sappy post alert! Today I raise a special toast to my partner in crime. Some days I'm not sure how she deals with my clutsy behavior, my lumbering bafoonery, or my shit memory, but days like today I'm reminded how lucky I am to have found someone like her to spend my life with. Thank you for making every day, especially the hardest ones, all that more special.

Hot dang. Santorini is pretty flippin beautiful. Even with some crazy thick cloud cover, this sunset was killer. Lots of patience was required for this one, since the spot you've gotta sit to get this photo is understandably swamped with folks enjoying the famous sunset. Huge hats off to wifey (@tildeathdowetravel ) for being super sneaky and snagging a spot for me and being okay with me sitting in the same place for an hour and a half (maybe longer?) waiting for the right moment while she went off to get drinks with the inlaws.
.
.
I'm not joking guys. I didnt move for a long while. This is actually a composite taken over the course of the evening to capture the colors of the sky, the buildings, and the lights once they came on after sunset. Booyah!

Few things that'll always make me happy: blue hour, long exposure, and super dope rad old buildings of awesomeness. In the rare occasion that Copenhagen is graced with some good weather, it isn't hard to experience all three.

Sometimes you're getting ready to take some photos and the most cliche thing in the world happens. Like that time I was getting ready to snap some photos of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Then, this here tricked-out hippie-mobile just decides to park right in front of me. Cuz that makes sense.
.
.
It feels like I'm making this story up as I type it, but yeah. This shiz really went down. .
.
And then I forgot I had this photo and it's just been sitting on a harddrive. But now it's free to grace the interwebs. Be free little photo. Fly fly!

Snapped this shot in Copenhagen and was almost immediately tapped on the shoulder by a very official looking man in a big fluffy hat. You know the ones... Those guards who stand super still and guard really important stuff. Turns out taking photos in the palace courtyard is a big no no. .
.
Have you ever been scolded for taking photos where you weren't supposed to?

As an artist / photographer, I think one of the biggest things we strive for is to have our work be impactful. For it the bring out some emotions and inspire those who view it. We try to capture the world in a unique and interesting way in the hopes that our vision resonates. This image certainly seems to have done that. I've never been one to repost a photo, but it's been so impactful to me that I wanted to share some extra thoughts on it. .
.
This photo has graced the front pages of Reddit, featured on some of the biggest travel accounts out there (@passionpassport and @discover_europe_ ) and gathered upwards of 40k upvotes, likes, etc. But undoubtedly the best part has been interacting with the people in the various comment sections. Hearing people's stories of how it transported them back to memories of running around battling imaginary dragons at this spot when they were a kid... Inspiring people to rearrange their upcoming French trips to make time for a visit to the abbey themselves. Reading stories like this has made the countless hours spent learning this whole photography thing so worth it. Thank you to all of those who have supported me. Thank you for sharing your stories. Thank you to the people who are here on my feed because of it. .

Have you been to Mont Saint-Michel? Please share your story of the first time you saw it in the comments. If not, is it on your bucket list?

Saw this bad boy unexpectedly in search of a place that was open for dinner on May day and couldn't help but hope there was a crew of swashbucklers aboard gearing up to sail the seven seas. Pretty such the answer was no... But I'm still a child and I couldn't help it.
