My small piecing sections; started the multi colored block during the Leftovers Quilt Workshop yesterday hosted by #jaxmqg and taught by Debra Jalbert @madeofhonorquilts. Continuing on with all orange grouping.
Day 5 of the #aqsphotochallenge2018 and the word of the day is DISPLAY. Here I am at the Fred Couples gate for The Players 2018. To get his name on an entrance the golfer has to have won The Players Tournament more than once.
Day 4 of the #aqsphotochallenge2018 word is REUSE. Yes, I am technically 8 hours late for day 4.....and for the next week expect most of my posts to be related to The Players Golf Tournament.
Here we are reusing the volunteer uniform baseball cap boxes for the Communications committee.
Day 3 of the #aqsphotochallenge2018 and the theme is INSPIRATION. Here we have the carpet in a villa at Orange Lake Country Club in Kissimmee, Florida. I first noticed it four years ago and every year we go back, I see the carpet and think ...that's my next quilt. Thanks to @marklipinski I now see design inspiration everywhere.
I haven't participated in any of the IG challenges since I am more of a watcher than a poster. But this one appealed to me somehow and we'll see how long Iast. So for now, here goes.... Day one of the #aqsphotochallenge2018 . Today's word is "space" and I thought I'd show off Lucille's space (formerly the dining room). That's our guild's QuiltCon 2015 charity quilt "Silly Goose, Catch Me if You Can" draped on her because she needed something pretty. Designed and quilted by Candi @itssewyoudear.
#emmasplan quilt backing. Thank you @sewmodernchicky for always getting me the best fabric bolts. The mouse fabric is due to arrive Monday....but didn't want to wait so using my spirit of the squirrel (not the offifial name, just what I call it) from Cotton + Steel.
First #emmasplan quilt top done. Started at the #jaxmqg sew-in on Wed where we used kid and kitten novelty fabric from JoAnn.
Then I saw the tattoo post from @christypugh and knew I had to add Libs Elliott lips. After that, I kept hearing someone say....use the good stuff. So now we have Tula and Victoria Findlay Wolfe and Carolyn Friedlander fabrics plus my hoarded Cattitude fabric from the Bolt Quilt Shop in Monroe.
Thanks to Robin, Franci, Melody and Paula for kitten blocks already made or in the works.
Clean irons are happy irons....at today's sew-in with @jaxmqg, we were on a production line roll making 6 inch kitten blocks for #emmasplan .
Until, I decided to try to clean one of the two irons we had on what else but
....cotton poly batting. What was I thinking? The iron only had a few black ink lines from the fpp papers.....and I made it so much worse. The iron is all cleaned up now that I am home and have my hot iron cleaner.
Good news is we made 10 fantastic kitten blocks for @christypugh. Hope to have the first finished quilt on it's way to her by the end of next week.
If anyone is interested, I remade the Elizabeth Hartman pattern into an fpp pattern. Just dm me for the basic block and a few variations.
Thank you to my March secret pal Elorra for the fantastic package. I love the yellow rose of Texas mug rug and all the other goodies.
Missing from the photo shoot is the purple thingy included in the package because I already put it in my travel machine accessory box!! Thank you Sew much...@sewmuchlikeme
