Did you know that emergency eye appointments are covered under Alberta Health? If you or your child experience eye pain, blurry vision, or other sudden symptoms, you don't have to wait in line at the after-hours clinic. Our eye doctors are here to help! Call us at📱(403) 286-4884 or walk in 🚶 to our Market Mall clinic, located next to Milestones.
Today is World Sight Day, which is dedicated to drawing attention to blindness and vision impairment. This year's call to action, as selected by the @IAPB, is Eye Care Everywhere. In honour of this, Market Mall Optometry and our sister clinic Sunridge Eye Clinic will be donating up to a dozen eye exams over the course of this month. Stay tuned for updates!
Even the most stylish of glasses look drab when they're smudged, scratched or worn.👎 And more importantly, poorly-cared-for eyeglasses can make it harder for you to see! When you clean your glasses, make sure that you use a microfiber cloth and lens cleaning solution✨ (no matter how convenient your sweater sleeve may seem)!

Many "small" frames for women designed by major manufacturers have a bridge that is still too large for petite faces. Even when these frames are the right width, the pupil won't be centred horizontally in the lens 🙅♀️ and the glasses will slide down. 🤦♀️
👓 Zain Read frames, on the other hand, boast a small width AND bridge, meaning your eyes will sit in the centre of the frame for a perfect fit and peerless style. 🤓💜 Grab a pair of new frames at @Soloptix or book an appointment with Dr Jivraj today! 📱(403) 286-4884
These frames by Dr Jivraj have "Leave the Past Behind" inscribed on the inner temple arm. This unique reminder will have you looking towards the future, and the keyhole bridge and cat-eye shape mean you'll be doing so in style!
Try them on at Sol Optix (628B 17 Ave SW, Calgary, Alberta) or book an eye appointment today.

Suicide affects many Canadians every year, but there is hope. We can look out for warning signs and reach out to those we love if they appear to be struggling, and we can be aware of the resources available to help those in crisis.
Suicide does not have one single cause. However, some warning signs include:
•expressing feelings of hopelessness, isolation, or of being a burden to others
•withdrawing from friends, hobbies, work, and/or social activities
•displaying swings in mood or radical changes in behaviour •carrying out reckless and impulsive actions, •unexpectedly expressing a preoccupation with death or seeking ways to kill oneself
•unexpectedly making out a will, final arrangements, or giving away prized possessions (when coupled with other warning signs)
•increasing use of alcohol or drugs
These signs can indicate that a person may urgently need help. Other risk factors include untreated depression, having recently experienced a severe loss, and an inability to connect with potential helpers.
