LEARN THROUGH THE JOURNEY😀🍍.
The biggest thing I keep learning in the health and fitness industry is that ITS A JOURNEY! .
Everything in our life is a journey, from going to school to starting a career, learnig a new skill or even starting a new relationships!... Everything has steps to accomplish and when you get to where you think you want to be there are more steps! .
Because we change throughout our journey, we grow, we learn, we adapt and we then want more! .
This is my 10 year journey! The only consistency is my life is these two photos is my desire to travel.. and maybe love for the color blue lol 💙 ... Which is now more teal! #tealeveryday .
Back then I swam every day and had no idea what a gym even was!!! 😮🤔 I ate waffle with Nutella every single morning for Breakfast and maybe an afternoon snack too 😮😮😮😀😍 #fatkidatheart .
My point is that you can't look at pictures of people on social media and compare yourself. You have no idea where they started or when.
I've been weight lifting for almost 8 years, I've done 3 bodybuilding shows, tried CrossFit, did some powerlifting, I do yoga a few times a week and have dabled in many forms of calthestics/functional training and have been a trainer for almost 4 and now a yogi!! .
I'm still learning and changing every single day! And this is my life/career! .

A few years ago my life completely imploded due to my parents decisions.
My parents don't live in the country due to their decisions (that's a story for another day) and I unfortunately was affected in a huge financial way.
In the end, after a year of frustration, anxiety, anger and so much more ... I decided to claim Bankruptcy at the age of 23. I'm now 26 ... which means I'll still be effected by this for another 4 years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I did not want to move or talk or even see people and I had no fucking clue what I was going to do or how I was going to figure this all out ON MY OWN.
I was depressed on the inside, but through all of this complication, I kept smiling and hoping that this all happens for a reason, that my situation will some how helps others.
So I started watching motivational YouTube video ..EVERY MORNING. I learned that I had to reprogram my mind out of this negativity.
I to this day still fight my doubting negative thoughts!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, I was determined not to let myself be defeated by this situation, I knew that so many other in this world had it worst, I knew that so many others had prevailed through their own challenges and are now successfully.
I believe if they could do it... then why couldn't I, why shouldn't I, or try at least ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So over the years, I have found a few practice to help me make small changes daily in my Body, Heart, Mind & Soul.

Starting with a Deep Inhale Raise the Arms overhead.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Car and Cow are actually two different poses but they work together as opposites. One for Spinal Flexion and the other for Spinal Extension. .

COW - Inhale .
- Bring belly down to ground .
- Open through the Collard Bones .
- Bring your gaze up to the Sky .
CAT - Exhale .

Working with some many amazing women every day I truly get the chance to understand the psychology behind making a food Lifestyle Change.
What I mean by that is ...
Changing your eating is extremely hard!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was that girl to binged in secret... what people can't see won't hurt me right! 😏
...wrong 😑 ... I think the true saying goes "What you eat in private, you wear in public"... aint that unfortunately true .. FML right ! 😣😮🤔
I hated the thought of dieting ... because to me that was a restriction of EVERYTHING I WANTED AND NEEDED!
But was it really ??? 🤔
Funny me, decide that I should do a bodybuilding show.... that way I'll make sure to stay super strick and NOT cheat on my diet for the entire prep... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁 If only my coach knew .....bahahaha ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll admit it .. I didn't not adhere to my prep meal plan 100% ... probably not even 80% 😆😆 Oh Well it was 4 years ago!
After my last competition -> Provincials @torontoproshow I decided I needed to find a better relationship with food! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the past 4 years the biggest lesson I have learned is my mindframe around food!
The best way to do that is not think of eating as a restriction but rather adding more good into your body with whole food that give your energy and strength and that don't hurt your digestion and also make you FEEL good :)
By adding more and more and more and more good ... The bad starts to disappear and you don't think of it as often 😉♥️ It takes time ... But I find thinking about it like that helps. It's when you restict things that you feel like you NEED THEM ... When you add more and more and more positive option... Your mind doesn't think the same way ... It's actually a mind trick in a way 😁😀🎉
I try it out ladies and let me know! This is the philosophy I bring to my lifestyle meal plan for my ladies!

Ladies 💪🏼💪🏼 it takes Time, Consistency, Resistance and GLUTE ACTIVATION to grow your glutes!! .
Growing our Glutes has definitely become the girl gym Workout Fav! .
So let's break down what you NEED TO DO TO GROW YOUR GLUTES 🍑🙌🏼 .
In the past few year I have done tones of research and have tried many different programs and methods. .
Most programs I found originally were suggesting 2-3 heavy legs days /week.
Being a lifter I thought this was great, and so much fun! I love leg day! .
Unfortunately, the frequency and the heaviest would often inable me to go any longer than 2-3 weeks, and would often have to take a week off to recover. Setting me back further. .
My hips and knees would give out on me and would be in constant pain. Unfortunately for me I'm born with loose ligaments, so I physically couldn't last a full program. .
So I looked into using resistance bands... This was definitely an easier option, my joints didn't hurt anymore... But I had to do so many reps to even feel anything. .
Once I found out that you need to ACTIVATE your glutes before you train them, Wow did it make a difference!! .
Basically ... Your glutes is one of the biggest muscles on our bodies...but unfortunately most of us sit all day on our Glutes, which makes them to relax and be lazy. .
My body has always been quad dominant... Therefore I have found that by taking 5min before my leg workouts to "wake up my glutes" aka - ACTIVATION, I was able to feel my glute during my Workouts. .
I do this with mini Loop bands 🙌🏼🙌🏼 ... As well as going slow in every movement creating lots of time under pressure. .
Once the activation has been completed I then move on to the Workout. I absolutely love lifting heavy but my joints can only take 1 day/week.
Therefore I add compulsory leg exercises in supersets to the rest of my workouts through the week. .
This increase the frequency on my Glute/Leg exercises, but doesn't over power my joints to the point of pain. . .
Therefore all you need Ladies is ACTIVATION, RESISTANCE, FREQUENCY & TIME / PATIENCE. .
