Hmmmm....I’m seriously a glass is full person but do you ever wake up somedays and look in the mirror and ask”When did this happen?” All my older friends warned me it was coming. Now it’s here! Gray hair, prescription glasses 👓, and menopause! Fun times. Don’t worry I’m not letting it get me down. I still think I’m 30 but my body is saying otherwise. Who else out there can relate? Insomnia, hot flashes, poor vision, memory loss, new gray patches?
I have to admit some days it’s a STRUGGLE but thank goodness I have healthy eating and exercise to maintain some of my sanity! Exercise is my drug. When I’m not feeling well, stressed, sad , or anxious 😦 it’s my workout that soothes me, gives me a new outlook and a natural high. Think 🤔 I workout just to be fit? Nope 👎 (well ok yes a little ) but during this stage of my
life I workout to combat all the lovely stages of aging.
Come on ladies help a girl out. Share your aging pitfalls and solutions. We ALL have them. We need to share our struggle and how we manage them so we can relate to each other and we don’t feel so alone! It’s ok to admit you are not perfect!

If you know me you know I don’t waste my time on anything that is not “calorie worthy”! You know when you are expecting something to be so super delicious 😋 but when you take that first bite you are like “meh”?? For some reason though we take a second and third bite or maybe even finish it ....for what reason? I guess we think 🤔 it’s going to get better the more we eat??? But it doesn’t!
Another reason we may do this is because we eat mindlessly to console or soothe ourselves. Hmmm! It’s a vicious cycle that will lead us to unhealthy bodies and more dissatisfaction.
Promise me next time you take a bite or 2 of something but the taste doesn’t live up to your expectations STOP 🛑 THE MADNESS AND TOSS IT! Save the calories for something that is truly savory and satisfying!

Food for thought 💭 Sometimes it seems like people feel healthier choices are the enemy! It’s the junk that’s causing heart ♥️ issues, diabetes, obesity, dementia, high blood pressure, and so much more.
Being smarter about your food isn’t all about slashing calories and giving up on all your favorite things. It’s about finding balance between the two.
It’s not as difficult as we make it! I promise!
Typically we choose certain foods because they make us feel good! Sugar, fried foods, etc. It’s about feeding our emotions, our stress, our anxiety, our feelings!

Problem: Don’t have time to cook 👩🍳 dinner 🥘 or prepare your breakfast 🍳 and lunch each day? Find yourself grabbing processed or fast food when you are starving and in a hurry?
Solution: Schedule food prep days 1-2 days a week. It really doesn’t take that much extra time to food prep. Set aside a couple of hours on Sunday and prep and pack your meals for a couple of days or for the week. You can even make it fun by having a food prep party. Invite friends to food prep with you. Enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail 🍸 while you make your favorite foods or recipes together. Each person prepares a specific dish for all the others and it gets divvied out between everyone. Eating healthy is so much easier when you can look in the fridge and the yummy 😋 chicken breast, ground beef 🥩, boiled eggs, or salad 🥗 are already prepared and in a container ready to grab and go.
Wake up to already boiled eggs 🥚, grab a container of ground bison and lentil pasta and bring it to work for lunch. Too tired to make dinner...those pre chopped salad fixings and chicken breast are ready to go just throw them in a bowl and dressing and TaDa you are ready to go.

Happy birthday 🎁 to my Mom who turned 77 years old today! She is physically in tip top shape but unfortunately her brain 🧠 is failing her due to Alzheimer’s. The most amazing part about it is she remains happy 😃 and positive. Her faith in God still prevails even though she can’t remember it’s her birthday 🎂 or how old she is. None of that matters anyway. The best gift is that she is still connected to God and despite her lack of memory she still knows she has angels watching over her and no matter what happens heaven awaits! As adults we often take life way too seriously 😒. Deadlines to meet , bills to pay 💰, so many responsibilities. How can we bring more color into our life and spread it to those around us ?
Go back to being a kid again. You know that happy, warm and positive feeling you get when you see a kid 🧒 doing something super cute? You can’t help but laugh, smile, sit with them and and soak in all of their amazingness! Be that kid 🧒! I’m an adult you say, it’s not possible. Here are a couple ways to bring your colorful kid back to life:
1. Be curious; ask people those silly 😜 questions you are afraid to. (People love ❤️ it when you take interest in them)
2. Be expressive; how many kids do you know that filter? (You know you want to!)
3. Take initiative; jump in and try new things without looking for permission from others.
4. Be inventive; think outside of the box 📦 and pave your own path. You never know who might follow.
5. Be confident; don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Dance 💃, laugh, and be silly 😜 without the worry of what other may think of you.
6. Make mistakes; kids don’t worry about consequences they simple make mistakes and learn from them.

Is there really an ideal body weight? Who’s ideal? Society is obsessed with weight loss leaving most people to believe that no matter what they weigh, they believe it’s not good enough. Even if you do reach what you believe is an ideal number (on the scale) it may not be the ideal number for your body type or genetics.
So what is your ideal body? The ideal body feels energized, strong 💪 , relaxed 😎 happy 😃 and allows you to lead a normal healthy life! (Healthy heart ❤️, lungs, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc) You can have all of these things, even if your are not a size 2. In fact many thin bodies can carry serious health issues. So just because you are thin doesn’t mean you are healthy.
Stop 🛑 looking at the scale, the supermodels and celebrities (can you say photoshop and physical enhancements?) The only person you should compare yourself to is you. Do you feel great? Do you feel healthy? Are you happy 😃? Did you pass your last physical? Then you are ideal.
If you are at a weight where it puts your health at risk, remember making change is not about becoming perfect. Becoming healthier is about making better choices when it comes to what you eat and moving more. Making small changes over time. Nothing happens overnight. Make one small change a week and once you are consistent with that one add one more. My husband is so awesome! He loves ❤️ to cook and does most of the food prepping for us on Sundays. I think 🤔 it’s just secretly because he likes to do it his way! He is way more organized and controlled than I am. I’m more of a scattered squirrel that tries to multitask with food, fire 🔥 and sharp knives! Can you say dangerous????I’m not as serious about the kitchen chores, as you can see here! Lol 😂
What I love 💗 is we make it work and make it fun. We share the household chores, he is the better cook and I’m the laundry master. We both pick up the slack.
