Today marks two years of marriage with my best friend! Here are a few snapshots of our special day. We initially wanted a destination wedding in Italy, but decided to stay local in the end. It was wonderful to have our friends and family join us from all around the world in NYC. However, my hubby has promised me a vow renewal in Italy one day! 👰🏻. Our recent trip to Cape Cod was a little slice of heaven! I highly recommend it if you are looking for a family-friendly destination. Today on the blog I have my top baby travel must-haves. Go check them out and let me know if you disinfect your entire hotel room as well! 🙋🏻♀️Link in bio. 🍋
Creating memories with my little one. My grandparents have an amazing veggie garden in the heart of Brooklyn! The smell of fresh basil will always bring me back to this exact spot. I’m hoping to continue the tradition one day with my own little garden. Till then I’ll just keep stocking up at “il giardino dei nonni”.
I don’t know about all of you, but my feed is currently FULL of photos of my friends and family on their European vacations. I am feeling just a little jealous!! Just a little 😩. I went through old photos from my previous European vaca, and daydreamed about my next trip (hopefully next summer 🤞). This picture is from my favorite beach in the whole wide world!! I remember coming here as a child and eating Nutella sandwiches right by those chairs. 🇮🇹 🍋
Lemons!!!🍋🍋🍋 This week instead of doing a #thursdaybabyfav , I am doing a #thursdaymammafav . Here are a few of the gifts I received last week for my 30th. Do you think my family and friends know I love lemons?! The candles smell so yummy, and I’m obsessed with the stainless steel water bottle!! Everything was a surprise except for one item, the @katespadeny recipe book. I specifically placed that on my birthday list because a personal goal of mine is to cook more, especially for my son. Also, I want to start recording important family recipes for future generations and figured I better get that going now that I am a mom! You can find the adorable recipe book on @amazon. 🍋
I know my vacation happened because I have the pictures to prove it, but here I am less than a week later and my body already feels like it’s in need of another one! Why can’t we just be in vacation mode all year around? 🏖
Beach days look a little different now. They include a gazillion bags, sitting in the shade instead of the sun, and an ever changing post-baby body. Overall they may be less relaxing days, but they are the BEST days. Watching my son enjoy the ocean and play in the sand made my heart explode with joy. Also, I’m obsessed with this lemon suit from @cupshe! It’s the perfect comfy and stylish one piece.
I’m going to share a little secret. I truly would have been happy with either a girl or a boy, but I’ve always REALLY wanted boys. Maybe because I grew up with a sister and never got to experience having a brother, but I’ve always been fascinated by mother/son relationships.
I felt this way more so after meeting my husband. Sadly I never had a chance to meet my mother-in-law as she passed a year before my husband and I met. I can distinctly recall a moment at the beginning of our relationship, while hearing the way he would speak about his mom and how fiercely he loved her, thinking to myself “I want a son just like him”. Life is full of obstacles and lessons and as I sit here today, the day before I turn 30, one phrase sticks out to me the most. What’s meant for you will not pass you. 🍋
My favorite tiny human 💙. He exhausts me but brings me so much joy. This crawling phase is exciting for him, but super tiring for the adults 😂. Lately, I find myself counting down the days to that one night a week I have my husband home for bedtime. Then I take a look at this little sweet face and know I would do the day a million times over. #motherhood
I cherish every single newborn memento and keep each one stored in a special keepsake box. However, Matteo’s hospital receiving blanket is extra special to me. I distinctly remember our first moments together and me eyeing that famous pink and blue hospital blanket after hours of labor, and thinking to myself “we made it!”. Moments that will remain stamped in my mind and heart forever.
I knew I didn’t want the blanket laying in a box unseen, and thought that making it into a sweet teddy bear was a great way to start my own little family tradition. I had this bear made on @etsy by a shop called Numsies. I admit that I cried when I opened the box and saw the finished product. And each time I look at the bear it brings back a rush of emotions. Crazy how an object can do so, but it just does. I can’t wait to see how many more times I’ll be crying those emotional mamma tears over this bear for years to come! #thursdaybabyfav 🍋
After three solo days with my baby, exhaustion has arrived. I am in need of a vacation! As a child I would go to Italy almost every summer with my family. The last time I was there was 3 years ago when my hubby proposed 💍. I am absolutely feeling that Italy withdrawal! Here is a pretty pic from my last vacation to get you through this Monday.
