Good Morning friends! As you may have noticed, I’ve been posting much less lately. Due to a combo of reasons, a major one is feeling affected by things happening in our country and world. Are you feeling it too?
I’m actually trying to read the news less (it’s a fine line between staying informed and feeling paralyzed by everything that’s wrong in the world), as well as spending less time on social media, and more time connecting in real life and doing what feels good to my soul!
I spent this past weekend in Oregon, celebrating the holidays with my family. We ate way too much and laughed and played games and went ice skating (pictured here: I got brave enough to let go of the wall!). My point of all this is I want to keep posting happy and yummy photos, even if it is a bit less frequent, and also want to know what would you like to see more of? Found this recipe by @chocolatecoveredkatie whilst looking for a #vegan pumpkin pie recipe. It's so delicious (Mom)! Super easy too. I added a shake of smoked paprika for a little something smokey extra 👌

Ps- when I first adopted Sprout I didn't know dogs could be vegan, and it was very stressful, but dogs are omnivores and can actually thrive on a #vegan diet! 💚
I don't always put flowers on my smoothie 🌼 (this is actually the only time in my life so far), but I DO almost always use the same basic ingredients as a base:
•1-2 really ripe Frozen Bananas
•Non-dairy Milk or Water
Then I add either:
•Blueberries (tastes like pie)
•Dates and extra Vanilla (vanilla dream cookie)
•Cacao (decadent chocolate)
When I want to be extra healthy I'll add:
•Spinach or Kale •Flax, Chia, or Hemp seeds
•Various other superfoods of my heart's desire!

For sandwich making, I use my sister's tried and true recipe of 1 smiley face amount of mustard 😋 Perfect every time! 👌
After eating our way around LA all weekend, we decided paddling a Swan Boat around the lake would count as a spin class 👍 (although I kept getting accused of not doing any of the paddling)! 😅
So much fun having my sister in town, and sooo awesome having another #vegan in the family. Can't wait til we get to hang again! 🍔🌮🍟🥂❤️
Being a stereotypical vegan who goes to a Mexican restaurant and orders the salad 🥗🤣 I love nachos and burgers and pizza as much as the next person, but I also love to eat as many leafy greens as possible everyday!
This Ensalada Del Mar @gmweho is light, fresh, a little spicy, and super flavorful. Perfect with a margarita on a hot day 👌
Hike + Brunch @littlepinerestaurant is a mandatory combo while in LA ☀️ Here we have the Sausage Sliders with caramelized onions, roasted fennel, and pickled onion on everything buns. Also, French Toast, Avocado Toast and, not pictured, my new most favorite thing: Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup 😍😍😍
