I’ve been putting off this day in my mind for so long but today was finally time to drop my sister, sidekick, partner in crime, fellow vegan queen and the yin to my yang at the airport. Tamsin is spreading her wings and off to experience and do amazing things in Cambodia, and I couldn’t be more excited to see everything she does.
I’m gonna miss you every single day @tamsinrose, but I know you’ll be living your absolute best life out there, and thank god for FaceTime. Love you 🖤
In @brightzine Issue Six I wrote about hero worship, why it’s a problem, and why it’s even more of a problem when all our ‘heroes’ are cis straight white men.
“Our communities are beautifully diverse with many intersections, they are not made up of predominantly cis straight white men, so why do they make up the biggest proportion of the ‘leaders’?”
We’ve published the piece online now if you want to read it, link in bio.
To all my cis straight white guy friends, it’s not a personal attack, it’s a widespread problem that you can help to dismantle. Be an ally and an accomplice and help create some real change. 👊
I can’t stop thinking about this baby today. Chas is one of the very few, the absolute <1% of animals that are saved from animal agriculture industries. He was thought to be blind, so ‘farmers’ wanted rid of him, they would’ve killed him but he was luckily saved by an activist and brought to a sanctuary. 🖤
When we met him all he wanted was companionship and to suckle from his mother, he continually tried to suckle from our hands and arms. He’s a baby, and his mother is somewhere grieving for him and having the milk that is meant for him taken from her body for humans to consume.
It’s like a horror film, dairy is scary. ✖️
